Phew! That’s good news!
Me too! Of course, that’s no small thing!
Phew! That’s good news!
Me too! Of course, that’s no small thing!
I bought a shirt that I liked, and for once, other people noticed it and liked it too.
Wow, that’s pretty sad…
The furnace repair guy was able to find the control board he needed to fix the furnace, and is currently downstairs doing so (it’s 48 degrees in the house right now).
I was able to get warm at my massage therapy appointment today, and she used the heated table and let me stay on it for 10-15 minutes after my massage was done, just to be warm
That’s not sad at all. That’s the exact thing I was talking about! Now when you look at that shirt, you’ll smile because you’ve received affirmation that you made a great choice!!
A massage, a nice gesture, and a fixed furnace. Hurray!!
It’s cold and rainy outside, and I’m warm and dry inside.
That is doubly good because where I live (Tucson) we’ve had a long drought and so we need the rain badly. And it’s also good because there is nothing that makes you appreciate a non-leaking roof than lots of rain. I feel very cozy at the moment.
I went through the same thing. But only one person told me she thought I was stuck up, everyone else just ignored me. Huh? Stuck up? Moi? My self-esteem took quite a battering. 35 years later, I’m still wrestling with that. These days I always try to be the most social guy in the room. It takes some doing, but it feels so good!
I just got out my half-dozen gorgeous knee-length tweed skirts, which I’ve been storing for about three years now, assuming that they wouldn’t fit since I had gained some weight. I was going to try them on, discover they wouldn’t zip, and purge them prior to the move.
They all fit perfectly. Did I say they’re gorgeous wool tweed skirts? It’s gonna be all tweed, all the time this spring, baby.
My awesome wife has been feeling under the weather all week- sinuses, sore throat, tired- and she’s starting to feel better today. I get to pamper her a bit this weekend.
She’s the best.
I love rain on the roof! With a good comfort food like stroganoff, snuggled under a blanket on the couch. Yay!
does snoopy dance of joy that really is awesome. i love unearthing stored clothes and finding out they are better than i remembered, too.
Sounds like you are too
MH you come across as a very cheery and pleasant person! thanks for starting a pleasant thread, being nice to everyone that posts in it - and being nice in the thread I started myself.
You’re a wonderful lady and I just wanted to let you know.
I’m changing the things I am grateful for to include this statement. You gave me a reason to tear up at work! (Don’t mention that in the thread that forbids us girls to do that.)
Unemployed with few prospects at present.
Which leaves me time for walking, (2 dogs, 1 only visiting), making grapefruit cupcakes, mmm, and having people in for dinner, often. Oh, and home renovation too. Today, priming the kitchen ceiling!
I’m having a bit of a problem with that as well today!
I was just about to post that. I loves me some good optimism.
Before I even read this thread, I got an e-mail from a friend, and she was all kinds of negative. I realize that lately I have been, too. So I responded to her and declared today to be Optimism Day. Then I saw this thread. Clearly that’s a sign.
I confess, grapefruit cupcakes intrigue me . . . they sound fabulous!
Thank you for the compliment!
Personally, I think we eventually come to a point where something really bad happens and we survive and then we say, well, if I can survive that - the rest is doable . . .no point in being miserable in the process.
Signs are good. I like signs. Like signs for corn! (winks at otternell)
mmmm porn!
Hot buttered porn!
Creamed porn!
Porn chowder!
I was with ya until the porn chowder. That could be something worth seeing the doctor about.
I don’t have it - so I’m grateful!
see what I did there? I took our little hijack and turned it around to the OP. Cause I’m goooood. lol.
-This week we found a house we love and hope to put an offer on it as soon as some mortgage paperwork is done.
-The kitty we thought might have hyperthyroidism had 100% perfect blood work. Her symptoms were likely just a reaction to some milk she drank earlier in the week.
-Earlier this week when I was upset about the kitty and stressed about house hunting I started crying on the couch. My daughter climbed in my lap and gave me hugs and kisses, then started stealing my glasses and putting them on herself to make me laugh.
MH thanks for reminding me that even bad weeks have bright spots!
House hunting is tough!! But I’ll be crossing my fingers that you get the house - keep us posted!
Yay for healthy kitty and for a cute daughter - you obviously raised her right
