Today, I got offered a permanent position with my wonderful, well-respected firm, where I love working. Okay, that’s not really a small thing, but it made my day/week/month.

How about, when I woke up it was sunny, and it made getting ready for work a ton easier.
And, I had lunch with two friends, and at the end one unexpectedly took care of my bill as a celebration of my good fortune.

One of my classmates complimented me on my shoes this week. A small thing, but I have been feeling a little down about my clothes and shoes lately because it seems like everyone I see is some retro goddess with a fur coat and one-of-a-kind knee high boots with four-inch stiletto heels–it was good to hear that my little bright blue flats could still impress.

I also joined the choir and orchestra at my university. I had forgotten how much I LOVE being part of communal music. I’m thankful that I have the opportunity to do so, that I made the decision to bring my flute across the Atlantic, and that it’s casual enough that I don’t have to fear not being the best alto or flautist ever. Plus this gives me another opportunity to make friends, which is of utmost importance, me being 5000 miles away from home and all.

Yay, shoes! I’m a total shoe-a-holic, but refuse to spend more than about $20 on a pair of shoes, and love when I pick up a pair that costs me less than $10.

And I miss singing with a choir - sounds like so much fun!

After dicking around with an upper respiratory infection for six weeks or so, I finally went to the doctor, and the antibiotic he put me on is working! Yay!

A colleague and I had a meeting in Columbus today. She had another meeting after the one we were both in, so I dropped her off and got to spend an hour in one of my favorite bead stores. I can’t wait to play with my purchases!

Yay for drugs and beads! (why does that sound like a hippie thing to say . . .)

The new horse I bought this week is being delivered tomorrow! YAY! I cleaned up around the dogpen and the rest of the yard, which I’ve been procrastinating forever. 30 minutes work and now I’m not unhappy when I look at my yard. Don’t you wonder sometimes why you just don’t do stuff and get it over with?

I’m thankful for the 20" of snow we got in the last 24 hours. And for our little Maggie dog, who’s been with us 3 weeks tomorrow.

I miss snow! And having a puppy to play in it is always so cute. What kind of dog is Maggie?

Tuna Sub sandwich from Subway on Friday! (Italian bread, no cheese, no toast, with spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, and olives-Yum!) With a sugar cookie!

I love salads from Subway (allergic to the bread) - yum!

Cold windy night outside, but I have warm, clean socks and five cats on the bed to keep things toasty. Doesn’t make up for my husband not being home, but the cats love having his side of the bed.

Y’know, we need pics of the 5 cuddling kitties - sounds toasty!

It’s cold and snowy here again, but the weather change made a lot of hoar frost, and everything is just lovely here now. I think I’ll go out with my camera tomorrow and see if I can get some good shots.

Send some my way - I miss snow a lot! (Not the shoveling part, though.)

This morning I was thankful that I didn’t have to waste a can of lock deicer and five minutes like yesterday, or half a can and fifteen minutes like Wednesday, to get in my car before work.

Nah, actually, I’m happy to learn that we’re going to have a busy schedule at work all the way through August, which is an improvement over 2009.

I love when i wake up and don’t have to scrape frost off my windshields! Busy is also good!

I’m just really glad that while I was inwardly freaking out, I managed to keep my cool and do exactly what needed to be done…and that my coworkers noticed it. I’m thankful that I can say that I did the right thing.

That’s really good. I’m glad you were there to help him. I remember when there was a fire at the hotel I was working at. I got scolded because I was “too” calm and the fire department wasn’t sure if there was really a fire or not because I wasn’t panicking enough. :smack:

The spousal unit got me a digital camera for Xmas and I’ve taking pictures of the fur babies and uploading them. I was thankful enough for that, but a couple days ago I discovered my camera has video capabilities. Cool!

Now I’m videoing the cats all the time, hoping they’ll do something cute enough to upload to YouTube and make me rich. Heh.

I haz cheezeburger lolcats tube. Hurray!

We are currently living on different continents and I have had a rough week at work and was feelign a bit down. I talked to him this morning (his Friday evening) and he made me laugh so hard I inhaled orange juice. Love that man
