OK, so I finally joined Ravelry and I’m starting to look around. I like what I’ve seen so far, especially the idea of being able to organize my stash and keep track of projects. I’ve only looked at one thread on the message board (Socks – Are They Really Addictive?) and the people there seem pleasant enough.
I know we have other Ravelry knitters around here. Does anyone have any tips? It looks like a good place to indulge my hobby – erm, better make that obsession.

Stay out of Big Issues Debate because people get cranky when you ask them to actually explain what they’re saying and maybe provide a couple cites. Also, agriculture is evil.
That’s about it. People are for the most part pleasant, although the cheerfulness does get wearing after a while. If you read This Week in Ravelry a couple times a month, then you should get a handle on things pretty quickly. It’s not a difficult site to navigate by any means.
