Fellow Trump voters: How do you think the Donald is doing so far.

Politicians slip up in public speaking all the time, bro. Just look at Dubya.

<bolding mine>

Now you’re saing:

So if he keeps his promise not to touch entitlements, kicks off some “pet projects”, builds a $20B - $40B wall, adds $56B to military spending, what mark will you give him?

And what are those other things he’s doing that you want?

So you agree that Obama didn’t lie, he just “slipped up in public speaking”?

No, Obama definitely lied to the American people in 2008 about what his healthcare refoem bill really entailed, and about supporting traditional marriage.

He lied for many years about Obama’s birthplace. He’s lied many times about the election results and silly things like crowd sizes. These are not things in which the facts are legitimately in dispute or on which reasonable people can disagree.

Since many Trump supporters believe those things, does that imply that many Trump supporters are lacking in reason?

I opposed gay marriage in 2008, and I supported it in 2014. That can be true without there being any lying involved. This was not an uncommon opinion change.

Clarify for me: Do you think lying is bad?

I respect your beliefs, however I also respectfully made clear that I wanted the views of Trump voters only.

Good luck with that. A lot of people here don’t respect opinions that differ from theirs, and they’re going to let you hear it.

Overall? So far so good in my opinion.

Repeal the coal hate? Works for me. Use the resources we have and find even more. No reason we should limit ourselves artificially - ie, insane levies on coal, oil, etc. in an attempt to force change and market forces. Not that I’m against alternatives, I’m all for it, just let the market decide and offer options for the future. When coal runs out, the marked will find have an alternative. Same will oil, etc. etc.

You’ve got to be kidding me. And others. Since his election it’s gone through the roof. The stock market is a reflection of business and what they’re capable of. or think they’re capable of. Having someone in office who actually respects and supports the business industry and what they do for America is the whole reason it’s gone up - speculation that things (business wise) are only going to get better.

I doubt a Clinton election would have the same results.

Again, overall? So far so good in my opinion

*** After reading the posts after the one I quoted and your original post - like I said, good luck with this. This board is filled with anti-Trump paranoia, fear, and loathing.

The hate is amazing.

Score making such a broad pronouncement about the tboughs of Trump voters, you might want to cite a reliable poll

I feel the same way, the link to the stock market boom and Dow rally is clearly linked to Trump’s pro growth tax cutting message, as well as his intention to spend on worthy public projects, although his protectionist talk has admittedly made some people on Wall Street edgy, but not that much.

Go ahead, drink the Trump Kool-Aid. That doesn’t mean anyone else has to buy into the outrageous lies, the corruption, the ‘do this now before effective resistance can be marshalled,’ the complete rejection of what you ‘patriots’ call the ‘American way,’ the screwing of everyone else to support the already astronomically wealthy, the screwing of the environment to support unrestrained profit motive, the ‘redefinition’ of truth to whatever his Orangeness determines it is this morning…

It may be anti-Trump, but guess what? It’s based on actual fact, not manufactured dream worlds or blind faith. Unlike the spun-sugar and bullshit mix of the Trump administration.

If that makes you uncomfortable, too fucking bad. Go post on Breitbart or Faux News’ sites.

Read my earlier post about the issue where I mention David Axelrod’s book; Axelrod is the man who worked on both Obama campaigns, and he makes clear in his book that Obama supported gay marriage but actually lied about it for political gain.

And it’s very possible that if he had come out as in favor of gay rights in the 2008 campaign, he would not have been elected and gay rights wouldn’t be as advanced as they are.

Pronouncement? Looks more like a question to me. You can tell my that little hooky thing at the end.

Oh, so that made it okay for him to lie because of the good things you feel he did in office, but you don’t like it when Trump lies?

All politicians lie. You seem to think that if the last guy lied, why can’t my guy? Why can’t your guy take the high road?

Trump lies far more often, far more savagely and the only goal in mind is to make himself look good or to profit.

If Obama lied about his views on gay rights, it’s because he knew that if he wanted to make a difference, he had to wait until his position was stronger.

Trump lies about everything regardless of whether it hurts him or helps him.

I see it completely escapes your notice that you and those of your ilk must reach all the way back to 2008, after a presidency of 8 perilous years to bring us from the brink of ruination thanks to the antics of his predecessor, to cite two “lies” by President Obama – whereas the members in this forum need look only 50 days’ past to cite numerous instances of egregious falsehoods by Trump. Think how many examples they’ll have after say, 6 months. Yikes.

You’ve been presented with many examples of Trump’s out-and-out lies, even when he needn’t have bothered. Yet not an iota of outrage from you over that.

You’re trying to assert parity where there is none.

Talk about a song and dance to lie to yourself.

But then, someone who is so comfortable to represent the words of others as his own probably doesn’t struggle much with dishonesty. Be proud. You really are the quintessential Trump supporter.
