Fellow Trump voters: How do you think the Donald is doing so far.

Why is it that conversations about Trump always end up about Obama? Obama is not president.

Deflection
False equivalence
Blind partisanship
Hatred of The Other…

No, it really isn’t.

He lied about what his healthcare reform bill really entailed before it was even written? :dubious:

Why is what Obama said a lie but what Trump said is a “slip up in public speaking”?

It must have been traumatic for you to realize that other people don’t have the same opinions as you.

It’s the same way that when a minority steals a jug of milk, it is a heinous crime, and should be punished severely with a 10 year jail sentence, but when a good old boy beats someone to death, it is “youthful hijinks”, and should be forgiven with 6 months parole.

These things make sense to a certain type of person.

Just so you know, being a recent addition, and all, that the “liberal hypocrisy” beat is quite well covered. We have experts.

Sure, politics is the art of the possible. And timing is at the heart of that.

Like drug reforms, it was an issue that was best led at State level i.e. from the grassroots - ain’t no shame in that.

Yeah, I’m a black man btw, so don’t even try to claim I’m racist over my Obama criticism. I’m just saying that I don’t trust all these so-called media “fact checkers”. I believe that someone has to fact-check the fact checkers, just someone should watch the Watchmen.

A healthy amount of skepticism is good. Stubborn denial of facts because they don’t fit your world view is not skepticism, however. It’s delusion and willful ignorance. There is no amount of fact checkers of fact checkers of fact checkers that will convince those who refuse to accept that they may be wrong or to recognize lies and liars for who they are.

Look, you support Trump, despite having admitted that he’s a liar and that he’s said and done questionable, dishonest, dishonorable and outright disgusting things. You want to justify it by claiming, “yeah-but-the-other-guy” but that’s only because you know you can’t defend the indefensible and so the only option you have is to deflect instead of admitting you are in the tank for someone who is intrinsically deplorable in virtually every way.

At least be honest with yourself and others and own it. Say, I excuse all the deplorable stuff about Trump because he’ll reduce my taxes, or build a wall, or magically defeat Islamic Extremists, or deport the bad hombres, and thus, MAGA! - Whatever the lovin’ fuck else that means to you.

If cheap slogans without considered thought to real world consequences, or deeper understand of issues and facts is what floats your boat - as is the case for Trump - then so be it. Wave your Trump flag high and declare to the world you’re with Agent Orange because it just feels good in your gut. Damn everything and everyone else. Especially those PC-ultraliberal-lefties and their social justice, universal healthcare, environment and globalism. Because they are the real enemies. Trump said they are. And you believe him.

I didn’t need Trump to tell me that ultraliberal Democrats and their big-government agenda were a threat to America’s economical health, security and safety; I knew that well beforehand. The fact of the matter is, on the big, important issues so far, Trump didn’t “lie”; he kept several of his most important, endearing campaign promises. These include, of course, withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a secretive and problematic deal especially for working-class Americans in the Rust Belt, reinstating a ban on funding for overseas health organizations that perform or promote abortions, repealing the most overreaching of Obama’s regulations on the gun industry and on the coal industry, and so on.

Make America Great Again, Indeed.:p:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

You can’t withdraw from something that was never passed. The TPP was what TrumpCare is right now: Vaporware.

Oh, and by the way, here’s the “secretive and problematic” document: Shhhh… don’t tell anyone it’s on the fucking internet.

Trump talks tough but carries a small stick.

It was still negotiated behind closed doors with the details kept front he grater public, and it was something Obama supported, which showed tremendously bad judgement on his part because of the disastrous effects it would have had on the working class all in the name of free trade, which in this case it would be manufacturing workers who would be trading their livelihoods and jobs.

His originally proposed healthcare and immigration policies produced such outcries that the replacement proposals are far less obnoxious. My guess is that this is the pattern his administration will follow: talk tough, bow to reality in the end. As far as his appointments go he has depending on your viewpoint either given reformers the mandate to reign in overreaching bureaucracies, or put foxes in charge of the hen houses. The resignations/withdrawn nominations so far would seem to indicate that checks and balances are working. My w.a.g. is that Trump has, however unhappily, discovered that the president isn’t a boss who can run things by dictate.

IOW, relax people, we don’t have a President Windrip in office.

Fuck relaxing; relaxing won’t achieve my goals.

You haven’t the slightest idea what’s in the TPP or it’s objectives, do you?

Of course I do, it was talked about endlessly during the campaign and there were several newspaper op-eds detailing why it would’ve been bad for workers. That’s why both major party candidates opposed it.

It’s several tariff cuts were more than overshadowed by several other atrocious things in it, hell it practically incentivized American companies to offshore jobs and production overseas.

Are you serious? Offshoring has been going on since before you were born.

Yes, and we know from history how awful it is for midwestern workers, and this TPP would’ve accelerated the trend of offshoring.

I think Trump is doing a wonderful job so far.

The only lies that will matter will be broken campaign promises.

I’m basically a one issue voter. As long as I hear about vigorous deportations, Trump is good in my book. I loved it when an illegal held a press conference and then was immediately detained by ICE for deportation. If we’re going to enforce laws like ones against videotaping professors, then we should enforce our immigration laws.
