They already fired the employee. But, when FEMA employees are being threatened by Trump supporters, I can sorta see why they might want to avoid Trump supporters. Not that they were correct in doing so (both the fired employee and the asshole Trump supporters).
Ha
If you think this is over, I have bridge to sell you
It is barely started
It’s not against board rules to post a news item about bad behaviour by a gov’t employee in MPSIMS.
By posting it here, you seem to be thinking that there will be a debate whether this was bad behaviour, and posters automatically defending the bad behaviour from a partisan viewpoint.
Sorry that debate hasn’t broken out.
The circumstances were that the stupid lady advised FEMA employees under her authority to skip residences, affected by the storms , that had Trump signs.
That sounds like politics to me.
And then, there’s this:
If what you mean is that the MAGA people will spend the next months, years, or decades going on as if this had been official FEMA policy rather than one person who promptly got fired, you’re unfortunately probably right.
If you mean something else, I’d like to know what else you mean.
Indeed. (I’d say more but this isn’t the correct sub-forum.)
This prediction seems entirely likely to come true. Rather thin gruel for Republicans to work with, though. (My bolding in the quote.)
Yes. Of note since DeSantis has been brought up: Florida “report to the plantation” incidents may, or may not, be being dealt with in the state:
(My bolding.)
It’s quite possible that differential enforcement of such issues lies in our political future.
An Ohio sheriff’s patrol commander who declared on Facebook that he would not help Democrats and would require proof of who a person voted for before providing them aid has apologized, blaming prescribed sleep aids for causing his “out of character”…
LOL
Let’s see how that works out for him
I think we all know what he means. It’s just a question of how long it will take him to confirm it.
Stranger
Before we get carried away- the employees were urged to skip homes with trump signs during canvassing. Not handing out aid or help. It was to protect those polling from violence or harassment. Really bad stupid thing to say.
Right-
A better way would have been to say- “If you feel visiting a house might be dangerous, you can skip it” which is what we were told one year- like for mean dogs, “trespassers will be shot” signs and the like.
No, the workers were not there to aid, they were just asking questions.
Well, they were canvassing “to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid.”
