I second the “which bar?” just out of curiosity since I live in Houston and did most of my bar-going here. My younger sister is single, and I know she hits lots of bars (usually with friends) here when she’s in town.
I’m not comfortable giving the name out on an internet message board just yet, but if I decide to stay around and get to know this community I may start a Doper’s Drink Free sort of deal(some of you seem to be borderline alcoholics though so there’ll probably be a limit ).
A friend of mine is playing in a band at a local cider house tomorrow after work, so I told him I’d swing by for a drink, listen to a couple of songs, and just say hi. It’s sort of on the way home for me, but out of the way for my husband, who has some commitments tomorrow evening anyway.
So while I will know my friend, he’ll be busy jamming, and I’ll be on my own. It’s possible that I’ll run into someone I know, and probable that that someone is someone I met from hanging out in the local bars/pubs/cider houses.
Still, I expect to be on my own, and I’m perfectly fine with that.
I haven’t done it in ages, but I enjoy it, as long as there’s a juke box and a pool table. I love to shoot pool. It’s a great way to pass the time and I love stranger chit-chat.
