Nothing much to add, really. First time there, so beautiful and so drowning in history (16,000 games?)… just wow.
Only about 8,000 (more or less). Don’t forget that half the games are away.
Still awesome it’s still there after this long.
I was there last night too. Did you make it on the Fan Cam?
I’ve been going to games there for 30+ years but I still love the feeling of coming up out of the tunnel and seeing the grass.
So cool, or so cold?
So good, so good, so good!
Actually it was fairly mild for a Sept game. Didn’t need hat or gloves.
Duh. Oh, well, it was easy to be sloppy on the math while sitting there.
Beautiful night, great memory for at least three of us (the Barbarianette was going through Reddit withdrawal), and proof that even a game between hopelessly eliminated teams of second-string players is better than the best day… fishing. Or something.
Not AFAIK; we were in the bleachers and the board was behind us.
My youngest two haven’t been to a game since they were wee (which means they don’t remember sitting on the field wall at Pac Bell Park, listening to the incredible sound of Robb Nen warming up 20 feet away. Cannon shots.) So I was telling the boy that there’s nothing, just nothing like that walk up the ramp and seeing the field - for the first time, for the first time in a season, for the 500th time.
He, uh, got something in his eye when we got up to the field rail.
