Fess up: Who still has their Christmas tree up?

Sadly, since I had abdominal surgery just before Christmas, and am still not cleared to lift over 5lbs, mine is still up. It looks great, and I am tempted to just leave it up until after Christmas this year. I have asked my husband repeatedly to take it down, but we all know how that goes. Since we almost never have company, I honestly am in the “oh who cares” mindset this year.

I didn’t even get around to putting mine up this year. Isn’t that pathetic?

My upstairs neighbors, who, from the sound of it, sometimes play basketball in their apartment, still have their Christmas tree up.

I took down the menorahs a couple of weeks ago.

We took ours down last weekend. I left it up because my mom was coming for a vist – she winters in Texas and hasn’t seen my decorations (most of which used to be hers) for several years.

I just got all the decorations boxed up yesterday. They still need to go back in the basement.

I am the kind of man who would still have his up - if I had put one up in the first place.

Didn’t decorate at all this year so no clean up. Yea!

:::raises hand sheepishly:::

Still up though we haven’t plugged it in for a few weeks :stuck_out_tongue: It’s an artificial one, fortunately!

We’ll take it down this weekend. Really.

A couple of years back we speculated about perhaps just adding new layers of ornaments with each upcoming holiday. Hearts for Valentine’s day. Shamrocks. Easter eggs. Little flags for Memorial day. More little flags for July 4th. Not sure what we’d add for Labor Day but obviously little pumpkins for Halloween, a few turkeys to round things out for Thanksgiving…

My roommate and I have left our (fake) tree up. It lends a nice ambiance to the otherwise sterile apartment, so…why not?

all i put up this time were five wreaths. i was too busy/didn’t care to do any more than that. they’re still sitting where i put them three weeks ago, neatly stacked on a dining room chair. at the rate i’m going, they’ll be there until christmas 2007.

uh, **dogbutler ** wins this thread, btw.

My childhood home was burned down by the new owners keeping their tree well into the flash kindling phase.

That’s terrible! :frowning:

My little tree is still up. I’m still getting over the major bug I had over Christmas and taking the tree down hasn’t made it high enough on the priority list yet. No one can see it and it’s unlikely that anyone will stop over any time soon, so I refuse to rush.

We still have our up too! Due to laziness on my part. I think it’s pretty!
I’ve been sick too, common cold is what I got out of the Doc. I also have carpel tunnel in my right wrist! Yippie for me. So I sit here feeling like sh*t and can’t eat much but cheerios. So our tree will remain up until I/we feel like taking it down. (fake tree BTW)

Well, the tree is down and packed into its nice bag. So the box could be disposed of. The lights are untangled and wound up in their nice little bags. I feel like I’ve accomplished something. Now all I have to do is put away about two hundred ornaments. We’re getting there.

Of course, it’s all still sitting in the living room, and I haven’t vacuumed yet. I told my husband that next year we need to get a real tree. It couldn’t possibly shed any more needles than this fake one did.

I finally took ours down on Wednesday. If I’d had half a brain, I’d have just removed the Christmas decorations and replaced them with gold <something or other> for Oz day.
