Yes, I have a child. She’s three and a half and the cutest thing you ever did see. And she likes to watch “Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman” on our local PBS station. She’s a bit younger than the target audience, but she enjoys it any way.
But, frankly, she’s just my beard. Because I’ve gotten hooked on this show myself. It’s fun watching the kids get to do things I whish I had gotten to do when I was younger. And, yes, Ruff cracks me up. And it’s made by the people who made “Zoom”.
So go ahead and mock me. I don’t care. I just need to share my shame.
Ah hell, I’ll join you in your shame. My 3 girls (7,4,2) love Ruff as well, and I join their viewing whenever I can. It is a great show - so far they’ve built their own kites, become interested in space, and tried exotic foods due to Ruff. We live near Boston, so I tracked down and brought my kids to the mural the kids on the show painted. And the dog is hilarious.
I don’t have kids so I don’t think it will become a regular habit, but one day I caught several in a row and think it’s fun.
I loved the episode where the kids got sent on a scavenger hunt for things relating to the planets and at the end they learned each leg they traveled was the relative distances between each planet. Then they had to reconstruct the solar system from what they had learned. Fun way to learn!
I don’t have kids and I love Ruff Ruffman! Like you said, his show is the successor to Zoom. Not only are the competitions and such very interesting, but as you said, Ruff is a very funny character. He’s lazy, he eats too much, and he often forgets to get things set up as planned. Now who of us can’t relate to that? I mean, hey, we all can’t be Guy Smiley. Go ahead and visit [del]the garage[/del] Studio G. (Don’t worry- Princess Blossom Yum-Yum isn’t all that bad.)
