Proof again, as if more were needed, that it’s never boring in Bangkok. Story here. Contains a photo that is actually work-safe, since you can’t really tell what they are.
Excerpt: “Six human foetuses which had been roasted, tattooed and covered in gold leaf as part of a black magic ritual and were intended for sale online have been seized from a Taiwan-born man arrested in Bangkok, police said Friday.”
He bought the lot for US$6500 and intended to get that much for each one of them back home in Taiwan from “clients who believe they would make them lucky and rich.” (Other reports have listed him as a British citizen.) Said he bought them from another Taiwanese man down in our Chinatown.
This thread reminds me of when the annual anti-abortion scare group comes to campus and sets up their giant booth. It has rather large pictures of up post-abortion fetus/embryos, though usually nothing TOO graphic (severed hands, etc). They were really well posed by their photographer that trolls abortion clinics for post-abortion things and then spends hours taking pictures of, well, aborted things. For some reason with the lighting and posing he used I always thought they looked like tasty strawberry fruit gummis.
