FHRITP and co-workers

I fully agree, until the jackasses are stupid enough to laugh at, or be, jackasses on camera for a news station in a large city. I assume that there could be co-workers in my cubicle farm capable of that but: I’ve often told friends that I’m in a room full of very smart people; and if or when they do stuff like that I don’t know.

If, however, I saw one of them doing something like that on the evening news on CBC, I would be happy to see him gone and I know that the woman in the cubicle next to mine would as well.

Btw, I’ve always thought that stupidity should be in the Criminal Code:)

In terms of an employer judging you and deciding if you are the type of person they want to employ, what`s the difference?

Indeed. Let’s imagine an Internet sleuth figures out, from various context clues, your IRL identity, and then doxxes you after you said something he didn’t agree with. Now you’re in the same position, at least generally. Still OK with it?

You are never free from the consequences of what you say or do - I am fine with this idiot being fired. I have personally participated in disciplinary process for people that have done similar things in public or on social media - no one owes you a job or a livelihood and if you are going to be stupid enough to do something large and in public like that, then you deserve everything you get.

As someone in uniform, the potential is always there for someone to take what I said or did as representational of my employer as a whole, so I try not to act like an asshat (especially in public).

I know I wouldn’t be. I wouldn’t like it if someone installed a spy cam in my toilet bowl and then posted clips of my defecation online, either. Somehow I still know not to post my own butthole selfies to Facebook.

Seriously. That’s what Instagram’s for.

Is there any context for the ‘vibrator’ quip? Because I’m guessing that’s what got him fired.

No idea. He did mention something about something that happened in England. The more I watch this, the more I just cannot believe what some people are like in public. How immature are you?

Which is one reason why you should not post on message boards under your real name. Not that posting something your employer disagrees with and being a complete asshole are the same thing.

BTW, thanks to the update, I now know I would not want to work with him and now understand his firing.

Speculation exists that he was doxxed by a dyslexic agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I was undecided about the matter, having missed the indecent and meme entirely. However having watched the video(no sound at work) I support the firing because the dude just looks like a douche.

Being an employee of a government-owned business does not make him a public figure.

Being a government employee makes his behavior a matter of public concern, though.

Being a big enough public douchebag will, in fact, get you fired from almost any job, come done to it.

You choose the action, you choose the consequences, if you’re 27yrs old and haven’t learned this yet you kinda deserve a life lesson, in my opinion.

Bwahahaha!

Oh darn. Fired.
