Fictional companies in Sci fi-related areas

I got to thinking about a fictional stock ticker the other day for scifi and related areas, like videogames and anime after having watched Firefly. Help me make up a list of various companies you might see listed, maybe with abbreviations if you feel like it.

Blue Sun - Firefly - BLSN
Union Aerospace Corporation - DOOM - UAC
CHOAM - Dune - CHM
Liandri Mining Corporation - Uneal Tournament - LRI
Anaheim Electronics - Mobile Suit Gundam - AME
Post-Terran Minerals Corporation - Descent - PTMC
Sienar Fleet Systems - Star Wars - SFS
Incom - Star Wars - INM
Shinohara Heavy Industries - Mobile Police Patlabor - SHI
Umbrella Corporation - Resident Evil - UBR

Anyone care to add more?

UEC : United Economic Consortium from the Crusader video games.
NET : The Network from the Wild Cards books.
STRKE : Stark Enterprises from Iron Man
LEX : LexCorp from Superman.

Oooh, ooh.
The Sirius Cybernetics Corporation - HitchHiker, of course - FUN (because those idiots would try something like that)

Also,

OmniConsumer Products - RoboCop - OCP (duh)
EuroCorp - Syndicate Wars (computer game) - ECP

ComStar - Battletech - COMS
Weyland-Yutani Corporation - Alien - WYC

Megadodo Publications, from HHGTTG…

Yoyodyne (something or other), from Buckaroo Banzai

OCP : OCP from Robocop.

The Company (Weyland-Yutani) (WY) from Alien/Aliens/Alien Resurrection
McDuck Industries (MCD) from Ducktales

The Tyrell Corporation - Blade Runner

US Robotics and Mechanical men, Inc from Asimov’s robot stories. USRM

General Products space hulls, from Larry Niven’s known space books. GPSH

Paraden holdings limited, from Anne McCaffrey’s planet pirates series. PHL

Ballybran Crystal Guild, from Anne McCaffery’s crystal singer books. BCG

Cyberdyne Systems / SkyNet - Terminator 2 - CS (?)

Phillistine!!! It’s from Thomas Pynchon; it showed up in V. and Gravity’s Rainbow long before Banzai ripped it off.

How about:

Spacely Space Sprockets – (symbol SSS)
Cogswell Cogs – COG
Goliath Corporation – GOL (from Thursday Next)

Yeah, bring on the Jewish shepherd boy. I ain’t afraid of a rock…

I’m ripping even Pynchon off even more, because I’m a model railroader, and Yoyodyne Engineering is one of the heavy industries on my future layout.

Swift Enterprises, from both the Tom Swift and the Tom Swift Jr. boys’ book series’.

Denham Motion Picture Productions from the Original King Kong.

Thought of another one from Asimov:

Hober Mallow Atomics Sales, ltd. HMAS

Tessier-Ashpool and Ono-Sendai from Neuromancer
Planet Express and Mom’s Friendly Robot Company from Futurama

Wolfram and Hart From ANGEL WRM

Nice… except I think it should be WRH. To match the derivation of the firm’s name.

Zeus, Inc. From the Company series of novels (which I’m reading right now and LOVING!)

Probably traded as DRZ, but… Let’s face facts… When Zeus comes into power, there really -aren’t- other companies. At least, not ones that aren’t controlled / owned by them.

Hadden Industries - Contact - HADD

InGen - Jurassic Park - IGEN

and umm… CRAP! what was the name of the company Aaron worked for in Primer?
