fictional presidents of the USA in real life

No, that is stranger than fiction.
Henry Fonda as The President in ***Failsafe ***did a very good job in a very bad situation.

Now why have we not seen a sequel?? Yes the world is safe from the US and USSR blowing each other up like…for ever…but what the hell happens to the President?? Could you live with what you did? General Black obviously couldn’t.

There is also the (good) option of President Dalton from Madam Secretary. Splits with his party, runs as an Independent and wins re-election.

You see a lot of fiction where the bad guy President is either outright evil or is simply a naive/dumb puppet of the Vice-president/Powers that be, but is there any fiction where the President is shown to be the “Bad guy” despite actually having good intentions? And nothing that involves him being tricked or mislead, he is still the bad guy through and through.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Julie Louis-Dreyfus in Veep. But I’m not sure if she’d be the best president, or the worst. I bet the writers on Veep have been in a quandary come up with implausible situations, considering on real-life events.

My vote would definitely go to James Norcross, Super President.

Ha! It’s taken me 5ish months to notice my typo!

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Because those vampires aren’t going to hunt themselves.

Judd Hammond (Walter Huston) in Gabriel Over the White House sincerely wanted to Make America Great Again, but did it by imposing fascism.

I’d say the abovementioned Gabriel Over the White House fits that description – he means well, but the bottom line is that he turns the country into a fascist dictatorship.

There’s only one person who’ll be able to rescue America, after Trump is done with it; President Lisa Simpson.

There was that short-lived show with a Hillary Clinton-esque president called Mackenzie, which makes zero demographic sense as a female Mackenzie is probably ten not fifty.

I think we already have a fictional and comic President
you can see through him press conferences and attitude towards the press.

The Dubya from That’s My Bush! would be an improvement.

Although i can almost see real-world Dubya killing a condemned man with drain cleaner like TMB Dubya did…

Dave from “Dave” did subvert the Constitution but he had to do something to stop Bob Alexander’s attempt to become President. And it’s because of Dave’s actions that the nation mourns when the real President Bill Mitchell is laid to rest in Arlington National. Because of Dave’s Jobs bill, Bill Mitchell is remember as a second FDR and not as another Richard Nixon.

Can I add the Desmond Pfeiffer version of Abe Lincoln?

When it comes to fictional Prime Ministers, Andy from “Bart Vs. Australia” would be a good PM for Australia - doesn’t worry about running the country but just lies naked on an old rubber tyre in the middle of a billabong
