Crunch N Munch… Cracker Jack… Screaming Yellow Zonkers…
This thread was about violins, but half of use expected it to be about delicious candy coated popcorn.
So here’s the thread for that. My mom loves the nuts in these sorts of mixes. A few years ago Poppycock sold a mix that was just nuts, but sadly we can’t find it any more.
We recently bought the Boy Scout’s coated popcorn, but it didn’t have nuts at all. Very disappointing.
I find that any time I eat Cracker Jacks, they’re stale beyond redemption. Crunch n Munch is the go to boxed stuff. But it is being very quickly replaced by Kettle Corn style bagged popcorn.
OT, but homemade caramel corn requires some effort, and a candy thermometer will set you back about $10, but it is worth it. You can make it loose like the commercial fare, or gunk it way the Hell up and make fist-size, dentalcidal popcorn balls
I love Poppycock, but I almost never buy it, because when I do, I usually open the box/bag in the car and it never even makes it home.
Cracker Jack was always disappointing. I never tasted the way I wanted it to. The coating was, I dunno, not sweet enough, too sweet, too salty… something. And the toy was nothing to get excited about either.
Poppycock (I know there are different flavors, but I can’t remember what they are) tastes the way I *wanted *Cracker Jack to taste.
Okay… I might have to go get some later. Dang.
Not familiar with the other snack mixes you mentioned. However, original Chex Mix that you make yourself in the oven with butter and Worcestershire sauce: that’s some good stuff. The premade bagged Chex Mixes: blech. (Not that I won’t eat them… I will… in the car on the way home from the store.)
I thought that “Fiddle and Faddle” were the names of two female White House employees, when JFK was president. They duties included possible intimacy with the POTUS, whilst in the WH swimming pool.
