You are put in the great hall and given straw pallets to sleep on. Tarwal is there too, but bound at the wrists and ankles, and gagged, much like Kial was. The chest is there, unopened. It’s probably just the promise of something interesting inside, but you all find it strangely compelling.
You notice that Tarwal has a leather lanyard around his neck, at the end of which is a key.
“Well, that went smoother then I expected after our trials yesterday I expected something would have happened. When is breakfast? I think any this else can wait until after a nice hot slab of bacon.”
Symon wanders around to make sure that the chest is still locked and that Tarwal is still tightly bound.
“So… meester Tarwal. Wat does this key do? Where did you find it? And why should Ingmar believe you, eh?” says Ingmar in a slightly high pitched gruff voice. “Do not make me bop you again… Meester Tarwal.” And then Ingmar will go get breakfast and join the others.
Why not? And didn’t we open the chest to get the Knife?
The 2nd question is whispered to the group. The first asked to him.
(I’m going on Vacation until Saturday) so just have Ingmar follow the leader or the sexy lady until i get back. Bork bork bork.
I should probably take this time to describe the manor a little better, seeing as you can look around freely.
It’s a motte surrounded by a low wooden fence. Not terribly defensible. There is a well in the center of the motte, surrounded by four buildings. Next to the north entrance is a crude wooden watchtower, unmanned. To the east is the stables. To the south is a building with two doors. One is the privy (even Lord Mayald has to use it). The other door is locked.
To the west is the manorhouse itself. It’s a rather small wooden building of one story with a thatched roof. Rather a poor and unimpressive manor. The manorhouse has two rooms, the great hall to the north and the solar to the south. The great hall is rather small. I live in a tiny studio apartment, and my living room is about the size of the hall. 20x25, tops. It contains a small table, a large trestle table with stools and benches, a fireplace, and several torch brackets.
The north section of the room is walled off with cheap tapestries. Behind those are beds for the cook, the gardener, and the alewife.
The solar is where Sir Mayald and his father, the chamberlain, sleep.
Ro0sh, have a fantastic vacation! I hope you Bork many shieldmaidens!
"So what were you planning on doing with the knife in the long term?
“You said you found it while swimming, and upon realizing it was evil, you locked it away in the chest. Were you just going to walk around with the chest indefinitely?”
