Fiji coup chief runs ads to fill Cabinet

SUVA, Fiji - Fiji’s coup leader ran want ads in local newspapers Saturday to fill vacant Cabinet jobs, trying to piece together a new government for the south Pacific country.

Somehow, the daily news, after millions of stories, still finds ways to surprise me.

I wonder how much it pays? And if they accept foreigners? We should totally try to populate the Fijian cabinet with Dopers. :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, I’m in. I want to be the minister of transportation. First think I will do is raise all the speed limits to 150 MPH. Except for school zones which will be 65 MPH.

I wonder if the Republicans are reading the want ads in Fiji right now. Tomorrow’s headline may read, “Fiji Invades Iran, Seeks WMDs.”

You might be right. Better shuck my Fijian T-bills

Man, accelerating to 150 MPH in Fiji you´ll plunge into the Pacific before you get the pedal to the metal.

I, for one, would like to apply to the position of Minister of Obnoxious Nitpicking.

Do the best you can. My speed limit signs will say
Wide open till you see God
Then brake like hell

Cool, no speed limit for us atheists!

It’s also good for overpopulation.
Why is Montana so vacant? Montana has no speed limit for most roads, and everyone just floors it until they cross the borders.

I’ve been submitting grad school applications all day today, I might as well write one for the Fiji cabinet while I’m at it…
