File sharing win98/xp over an ad hoc wireless network

I need some help sharing files over this ad hoc network. I’ve got two laptops each using a dlink wireless pc card.
I’ve followed the instructions on this board:

http://forum.homenethelp.com/tm.asp?m=13607&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=ad-hoc&language=single&tmode=&smode=&s=#13755

and I’ve got the software set up so that it says they are connected in the ad hoc network. The problem is now I don’t know how to actually do anything with it! I think I’ve got shared folders enabled on both the win 98 and the xp machines… so how do I actually share files between the two?

If you have the two machines connected by network, and you have a folder on either one of them that is designated as shared, then that folder and its contents should be visible in both.
Using “My Computer”, right click on a folder and select the Sharing item and you can designate the folder as shared. If you named that machine Foobar, and the folder is Eatonshrdlu, and you put test.txt into it, the other machine should see \Foobar\Eatonshrdly est.txt when you go hunting for it with that machine’s “My Computer”.

Run the Network Setup Wizard on the XP machine, then use the wizard to create a Network Setup Disk for the Win98 PC.

If that doesn’t work, follow the step-by-step instructions I’ve given in this thread :

Connecting Win XP and Win98
