I’m thinking of making cookie bowls and would like some ideas for a filling for them that doesn’t have to be refrigerated. Any ideas?
Filling them with more cookies would make me happy. But I suppose you want to get more creative than that. You could mix up oreo type filling and add things to it. Fruit if you want to pretend to be healthy, or just more candy. Depends on your audience. A cookie bowl full of colorfull jelly candies could look really attractive. You could fill them with chocolate and add some tidbits so it looks like a bowl of the most delicious soup ever. You could put breakfast cerial in them.
Since it’s almost Halloween, I could probably fill them with Halloween candy. Never thought of that, thanks TriPolar!

Hmm. Since you’re using the outside as the form for the bowls, I suppose you could bake cupcakes, too, and they would fit nicely inside the cookies with frosting over the top.
Maybe frosting lining the insides with sprinkles and other cupcake type toppings pressed into the frosting, making sort of inside out cup-cookies?
