See, I’d be lost since I didn’t see the first eleven.
The Hulk. Gamma rays were in the Hulk.
Spiderman powers came from generic no-name radiation.
Spoiler Alert - He ends up getting the girl.
You’re certainly not ready for APOLLO 13.
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Sharknado 1, 2, 3
John Dies at the End.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
I’m sorry, but most of these suggestions do not fit the OP. They are providing the setup, or the conflict, or the situation, but not the plot. The plot must include the resolution.
Castaway.
The Great Escape
Lincoln
Batman vs. Superman
Considering the OP gave “Snakes On A Plane” as an example, I’d say this is not the case.
Piranha – there’s no plot, just hungry toothy fish.
Likewise Hobo with a shotgun.
While the OP says “plot” in the title, he just says “an idea of what the movie is about” in the rest of post.
If you had to include the conclusion it would be a pretty short list.
And Anaconda
I must apologize for the nebulous OP. I admit I hadn’t given it a lot of thought. In truth, Hobo with a shotgun is kind of the Ur-example of what I was going for here. Without it having Rutger Hauer as the titular character, I never would have watched it, based on that title. I’m also kind of fuzzy about conclusion even though I watched it all the way through twice. (Once by myself, then once with my roommate.) I further muddied the waters with my contribution of Titanic where everyone knows the conclusion, but not necessarily the rest of the plot.
So, moving forward, I think what I was going for, if you’ve seen the movie in question and you’re trying to describe the plot to a friend, maybe trying to convince them to see it too. Might you start out with “It’s just like the title says, there’s this hobo with a shotgun, he gets fed up with the crapsack town he’s living with and starts shooting the people he sees as responsible”?
Lots of good answers above, the vast majority of which matched the spirit of the OP, if not the precise letter. Thanks for everyone that has posted. I guess this is a good example of why I don’t start very many threads. :o
[Dude, Where’s My Car?](Plot: Two potheads wake up after a night of partying and cannot remember where they parked their car.)
