FFXI was the MMORPG, made for the PC and I forget what else. FFIX was the last FF made for the PSX/PS0/PS1. I didn’t like it very much because it seemed to have way too much dependence on minigames and I also think that movies should be an OCCASIONAL treat. FFIX kept interrupting my gameplay with movies.
FFXI was also available on the PS2.
FFIX front-loaded the game with a ton of movies, but barely had any in the last 2/3 or so.
Yeah, that was very annoying with the series as well. Even though I didn’t play them, from all accounts, I’d just hear that they pushed in more and more gorgeous cut-scenes, like Metal Gear.
I guess I never got more than about a third of the way through, then. I got obsessed with trying to do that stupid jumprope minigame with Vivi.
Oh, that’s one of the worst things in the game. Skip it.
But I was TRYING to skip it, and couldn’t. 
From FF7 to FF10, yes. I found it annoying, mong other things, because I lvoed the gameplay in FF9. Sad that the characters and story tended to fall off after a while. But I loved the game.
