This poll went up too soon…
Yeah, I kinda figured that the point of #1 and #2 were to narrow the field a bit for this concluding poll. Doesn’t seem to have been much narrowing.
Or enough time to vote - I voted in only one of them, and even that, it turns out, was after this poll was created.
Fair enough. I’ll wait longer for the next letter.
For the final poll I selected every song that received 10 or more votes.
Can narrow more in the next go-round.
mmm
I voted “Let It Be” - but only if it’s the version with the good guitar solo.
You mean the Spector Wall of Sound™ guitar? Not the naked version? I concur.
I’d rate any song off Let It Be higher without Phil’s added strings.
Louie Louie’s poor performance in this poll isn’t surprising. BUT…of all the songs in all the polls, I’d wager it’s the only one to be honored by at least two marathon events: Maximun Louie Louie and the Louie Louie Marathon.
1-2-3, 1–2, 1-2-3, 1–2 is the primal ooze of Rock. It’s not sexy; but it’s indispensable.
I picked Live And Let Die, but I must not have seen the Dylan song.
If I had, I would have picked Like A Rolling Stone.
