Finally, a job interview.

About a month ago I applied for a job at the local army post. They were hiring veterans, and only veterans, for gate guard positions. Due to an extraordinary screwup with my DD 214, I applied after all of the positions were filled.

Well, apparently something has opened up, because I got a call today from the guy in charge and he wants to see me tomorrow morning about the job. I’m rather excited about the possibility, because it’s a govenment job, it’s five minutes from home, and because it’s so close I can get a second job in addition to that one so I can make a little more money for my family. That’s not even to mention the fringe benefit of wearing a gun.

I want this job. Wish me luck.

That’s smashing news, Airman! Good luck tomorrow, and let us know how it turns out.

Attaboy! Good luck.

Good luck, man! The entire MAD group’ll be pulling for you…

Good luck, Doors! Please let us know how it goes. I’ve still got the bottle from Dope-a-Ween with which to toast your job.

Good luck, Airman!

And you know that whole thing where you pretend you’re Robin to try to fool me? Don’t do that.

Whoo-hoo!!!

This is the first I’ve heard about it. It’s wonderful news!!!

Robin

Excellent news! Good luck, and feel free to use us as references if you need them.

Very good news. Best of luck to you - start practicing that scary serious look that gate guys use all day long.

Good luck.

Do you get a bullet for that gun??

Great News!!!
But ummm, shouldn’t you tell MsRobyn first? I mean, it’s valentine’s week and all. You’d better get her a really nice card.

(I’m just saying…)

Best of luck Airman. Just tell 'em that you are happy to plug away at anyone who looks a bit shifty.

That’s great news, Dave. We’re pulling for you.

Yay! Excellent news.
Good luck tomorrow.

Hey that is great news. A job close to home means you can sleep in (well if MsRobyn and Aaron let you). Good Luck.

KICK ASS!!! I was going to apply for a force protection gig like that. They had ten openings to fill but NO FUNDING for any of them. They told me I should still apply and wait it out, but I didn’t bother. But I did get an active duty job. It’s only for two weeks, but it’s active duty money.

So guess how Bear’s serving his country!! The post just received 3000 matresses and somebody has to go around switching out all the old ones. Holy crap! This job sucks so badly. I’ve only been doing it two days and Im ready to blow my brains out!!! Tonight I dron 45 minutes just to get on a computer. Nothing is open in Starke, FL. So I drove to Gainseville just to fulfill my computer addiction! Plus, I think I will walk around UF and see if there is a decent club or bar tonight. I can’t stand not being around people. I am all alone at Starke. I don’t really have a place to live there either. But it’s just for two weeks. And since I now have a key to every building on post with a bed, I have no problem finding a place to sleep.

I also applied for a position as a drill sergeant at this alternative boys’ school. You know, like the kind you see on Jenny Jones… They pay pretty good, and I think I would enjoy the job. But I dont know if I could stand living in Starke. I would spend a lot of money on gas driving to Gainsville and Jacksonville every evening…

Good Luck with your thing!!!

Good luck Dave!! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Give 'em hell, boy.

Sending good vibes your direction!

That wouldn’t be at the War College, would it?

Go, pal, go! Good luck with it.
