Finally, a landmark post.

Well, it’s been about 22 months, but I made it to the quinticentarian mark. Along the way, I’ve learned manny fascinating things, like how to get rid of groundhogs, the extreme horniness of female dopers in their 30’s (which might be why I’ve been hitting on gals in their 30’s at the local pub), and the futility of the creation/evolution debate (or rather, convincing creationists they are wrong). And I hope I have given at least a bit back. While I haven’t posted regularly enough to develop any true friendships, I consider many of all you to be aquaintances, associates, chums, drinking buddies, contemporaries, and well wishers, in that you wish me no specific harm. The Board has changed since I got here, but that’s what makes it great. I hope to see everyone around for many more months and posts to come.
[sub]So, how many more posts until I get one of those SD mugs Coldfire is always bitching about?[/sub]

drinking buddy checking in! (ah, hell! i’ll drink with anyone!)

Congratulations! And you can count me as one of those who wish you no specific harm

Hey, BigDaddyD! Happy 500!

I’ve noticed you, since you and I both seem compelled to post to any and all beer threads that come along.

(Of course, I obviously feel compelled to post my $0.02 on a great many subjects, since I’m almost to 500 after only 3 months!)

'Grats BigDaddyD!

Not any specific harm, but maybe some general unidentifiable harm.

Congratulations, keep em coming!

Thank you for the warm wishes. Bonus points to those who know the origin of that list.

Ferrous, being a beer lover for several years now, and homebrewer for quite a few months, I find it hard to resist giving my opinion on the beautiful beverage.

OOOOHHHHH!!! BigDaddyD, I too, love that marvelous beverage that gives my head that neat swimmy feeling. I try to answer any beer thread as well. Also, I have been considering doing some microbrew stuff for about three years, but I have only recently gotten the space and money. Where do I start??

Um, and happy 500.

BEER!!!

well, gorgon heap, it isn’t all that hard. maybe start with a little internet research, and then look up brewing in your local yellow pages. most homebrew supply stores are run by friendly, knowledgeable people who are happy to hold your hand thru the first few batches. my buddy and I got a good kit for about $90, including the first batch of ingredients. each batch since usually runs between $20-35, depending on style and strenght, but I think our cheapest was $15. I figured it took about 8 batches to pay for itself. and after 20 or so batches, we’ve had only one go sour on us, and most are quite excellent. just remember, the word is sanitize.

Congrats on your… now 503 posts.
