Finally someone said it out loud [racist opposition to the ACA]

No, not necessarily the only reason, because I’m sure that group has a lot of overlap with – and perhaps entirely contains – the set of all who apparently felt similar irrational visceral hatred for Clinton.

I think it’s an easy way for Republicans to get racists to dislike Obama.
It is a tool that works for them.
I am a Democrat who voted for him, and I dislike the way he treated Hillary Clinton in the primary and the way he answered a question about that when he made her Secretary of State.

Obama is hated in large part because he is a symbol of change – a growing alignment of Americans with the party that represents itself as being for those that have little power in and of themselves, but vast power as a group or coalition. Conservatives who are not bigots are not phobic about other ‘kinds’ of people (including poor folk) are more willing than ever to accept the votes of hatred and bias that are offered them.

Never, in American politics, has any person been so subject to gross and evil misrepresentations, smelly stuff indeed. Old line R’s hold their nose and say ‘thank you’ for their support,.

I have never been able to understand how a poor state like mine is so solidly Republican in presidential elections. He must be the Bible belt and gun control.

I think I can say without any evidence of political bias that Obama changed pretty much nothing.

Arkansas is not a strong red state. But yes, like Montana, local politics tend to be bluer than presidential elections. Arkansas had (D) Governor and Senator, (R) Senator and 4 reps. Montana has all of them (D) except the at-large representative. I think the recent Pew poll thread illustrates how someone can be someone conservative and pro-Democratic.

I believe that a woman has a right to what is done to her body, but I also believe that I should be able to own a gun regardless of magazine size or the presence of a bayonet lug. =)

Well I and a lot of progressive don’t HATE Hillary, but we have little regard for her as a Democrat. She is a center-right corporatist. There will not be much difference between her economic policies and whoever the Republicans nominate. She may do more for the social safety net, but she will not do anything to alleviate the wealthy oligarchy’s rule.

Likewise.

The bayonet lug thing, not as silly as it sounds. A bayonet mounting is largely the provenance of a military weapon, no? The sportsman seldom finds him self out of ammo and in desperate need of a weapon against an enraged Bambi. Deer mostly run away, and you can’t catch one to stick him. And I don’t really think we have any compelling reason why civilians should own military weapons.

As for buying a weapon with an oversize magazine, I was under the impression that magazines could be removed and replaced, and only the Polish Army ever welded them into place.

I’ve emphasized a word in each quote.

Shodan, do you think “hate” and “oppose” are synonyms?
If so, this gives good insight into Republican thought.
If not, do you still think your post is sensical?

…And I know some Black folk who won’t vote for Whitey.

Huh. I’d say any black person who won’t vote for a white person will have to sit out on a rather large number of electoral races. :dubious:

This thread is not the place for it but the answer is why should lugs be banned? They don’t make the gun more dangerous. It’s pretty much like saying you can own orange cats and tabby cats, but you can’t own black cats unless they are at least 10% another color. Completely arbitrary.

Also deer kill people all the time, although probably more in the situation of the guy thought it was dead so a bayonet won’t help. And wild boars can actively kill you.

And normal military weapons are weaker than most >deer-level hunting rifles.

Even (Bill) Clinton? Or I wouldn’t vote for Whitey Bulger, either.

Cite?

He succeeded in enacting health-care reform where Clinton failed; that’s something.

Is she any worse than Obama in those regards?

Well, you see, what it is, there’s more than one way to hunt bear, and shooting them is not the most funnest way, you see.

Yes, but since it is essentially the Republican plan, we’d be better off if Clinton had caved to the Republicans and used their plan. =)

Uhhh…you don’t keep up with the Internet too much, do you?

And, why did the liberals hate Romney? Because he was white? (Finally, the truth is out. I know, it was bold of me, but, doggone it, I’m a prisoner of conscience!)

I don’t think that a liberal organization letting a liberal concept (the racist guy’s ramblings) requires a lot of balls. That’s like saying that the Republicans really had balls by letting the Dukakis-in-a-tank video show.
And, as for ACA, I don’t care what color one is…if one forces me to buy the shit insurance that I had already refused because it cost too much, and is shit insurance, then one is a shithead.
