Find a Carol Burnett sketch

I can recall a few specific details - Burnett played a woman who had murdered her twin sister and assumed her identity but, oddly, couldn’t wear her dead sister’s shoes without screaming in pain and for some reason she had to lie in the chalk outline of the victim and her twin sister was noticeably bustier than her.

Probably these inconsistencies that have hobgoblined my mind all these decades, but I’d like the see the sketch again.

I can’t help you at the moment, but that alone sounds funnier than anything else I’ve seen on TV in the last five years (admittedly, I don’t watch much of the Tube anymore). I miss ol’ Carol Burnett.

Just some quick googling suggests that on the Carol Burnett show there was an (at least) two part series called A Swiped life in which Carol played ‘twins’ names Patsy and Vera, but I’m not sure if either one of them killed the other.

You’re remembering bits of 2 or 3 different sketches. The twins were a spoof of a Bette Davis movie where an identical twin takes over her sister’s life. The chalk outline was from a spoof of a classic film noir where a man falls in love with a murder victim. Joey P probably has the name for the first sketch, I’ll try and figure out the name of the second.

Update: I think the second one is called “Flora,” a spoof of the movie “Laura.”

That was always a possibility. Thanks for your info, I’ll check it out.

ETA: I quickly found a Burnett sketch called “A Swiped Life”, apparently in parody of Bette Davis’s A Stolen Life. I’ll check it out.

The above post might suggest I was ignoring Joey P’s contribution. That was not my intent; just the product of hasty and inartful phrasing.

For anyone else The Swiped Life is on Youtube:
Part 1:

Part 2:

OK, great. Now, can anyone find “Waterloo Bilge”?

It turns out A Swiped Life isn’t the sketch I was thinking of, or wasn’t one of the two or three sketches I was thinking of.
