I have been looking for a web page that list the waypoints (A permanently stored and named position in the GPS receiver’s memory) for hiking trails in the NY area. Not just the trail heads but the points along the trail. I havn’t been that successful.
I would like to know:
1 Does anyone know of such a database - where is it?
2 If it doesn’t exist I would like to start one and add my own so other people can find it and use the info and contribute to it. How do I do this - since this is a hobby I don’t want to spend much money on it but just the time. Where is a good place to host the site (for free hopefully) and get it listed so when people put things like waypoint NYS GPS into their search engine my site pops up.
3 H!O!
4 is anyone intersted in helping out, or for that matter going on a hike?

That is very close to what I’m looking for and if I look further I might find exactly what I’m looking for. I tried to get those sites for a few days and just couldn’t. Thanks DDG for pulling my @$$ out of the fire again.
