Oooo, my Spidey-sense is tingling!
Here’s another Canadian artist for you - Toller Cranston. I’ve seen his paintings in real life; you do stand and stare at them, but it’s mostly from trying to figure out what the hell you’re looking at. Check out the prices on them, too.

I’m surprised you’ve seen them for real and don’t like them. He’s wonderful with colour. And paintings don’t have to be about anything. IMHO, that’s far better stuff than the endless parade of pictures of cows, pastures, and mountains that were the bread-and-butter of most Cowgary galleries. I went to gallery openings there a fair bit and rarely found much to like.
I’m not sure how you can say that, since you don’t know me and my taste in anything. I didn’t think this thread was supposed to be us criticizing each other’s taste in paintings, but rather posting things we find cringe-y. I find his paintings absolutely cringe-y, and so I posted them here.
