Find the one that doesn't belong

This thread was so successful that I’ve decided to post it again. Find the one item of the four that doesn’t have something in common with the other three.
1.
a) Jughead
b) Dilton
c) Archie
d) Reggie

2
a) The question, “Have you no sense of decency?”
b) A digression to the Bible

a) Crescent wrench
b) Basin wrench
c) Phillips screwdriver
d) Thickness gauge

  1. b) Fin Tutuola - Not a character on *NCIS
  1. b) “As Tears Go By” - not a Beatles song (but neither is The Glass Onion)

  2. a) Chicken Cacciatore - No pasta in this dish

  3. a) Travels with Charlie - Not a Stephen King novel

  4. a) His wife taught him to read and write. - Doesn’t describe Abraham Lincoln

  1. c) Archie - the only redhead in the group.

I’ll take a shot at a few:

Dilton, who was a character in Archie comics, was not a member of The Archies band

a, c & d describe things on a $5, while b describes something on a $1

As Tears Go By was a Stones song, the rest were The Beatles

This one’s really a guess, but a thickness gauge is not traditionally used in plumbing, where the other tools are.

    • b) Elvira Madigan - a tightrope walker, not an opera
  1. b) A digression to the Bible - not from the Joe McCarthy/HUAAC hearings of the '50s

That should cover them all, no?

7 could also be:

c) Fettuccine Alfredo - the only one that doesn’t use tomato sauce

  1. could be Jughead, as the others don’t wear hats, or they don’t have nicknames. 1. could also be Dilton, as the others don’t wear glasses. 1. could also be Reggie, as the others have last names that begin with the same letter as their first name.

I guess #10 could also be

They all loosen/tighten things except for the thickness gauge, although I’m pretty sure I’ve removed screws with a gauge before.

 Ummm, don’t read anything between the spoiler tags…thanks.

My thought for #10 was

The Phillips screwdriver doesn’t have any moving parts

Typically no, but I have a couple of ratchet ones that do. Does that count?

How about it’s much harder to kill someone with a thickness gauge than the other 3?

“Not a Beatles song” seems too obvious for #6.

My guess is “Mr. Moonlight,” as it’s the only song that is not an original composition by either The Beatles or The Stones.

Rodeo Drive is the only one not in New York.

#16

Peccary is a pig…thing, the rest are loosely related to cats?

#18

Iodine has all of those qualities except for the first?

  1. Bagel and lox is the only kosher food?

  2. Except for C, all qualities of water

You know, not to be a party pooper, but some of your answers involve us figuring out what you’re thinking at the time. All the Archie answers pretty much fit, and how are a crescent wrench and Phillip’s used exclusively for auto repair?

Oh, and Postcards answered #6 before me.

#16

Manx - adjective meaning “from the Isle of Mann”. Others are all animals (solely)

#19

Rose - others are genus names

a) Maury Wills
b) Ricky Henderson

This is a way wild guess, but I think David Cone is the only pitcher of the group. I think he’s also the only white guy of the bunch.
