So I would like to revisit the TV series The West Wing, so I wanted to see where I could stream it online.
When I Googled “hulu West Wing” I didn’t see it there. Same with Netflix.
But I did get a result…on the website TVDuck.com. What the heck is TVDuck?
I Googled that phrase and got their FAQ - whose first question is:
Is is that easy? Some website can simply offer it and there are no fees to pay?
What am I missing here? I am not providing a link to TVDuck because I simply don’t know if it is a legit site…
So - best way to stream The West Wing online - recommendations?
Any insight on TVDuck?
How about other online streaming services?
More pricey than I would like, and I am not sure that my family will like it enough to make it a “group watch” or if I just end up dipping into it on occasion, which is unfortunately what I have to do with Hill St. Blues (I love my kids, but why they don’t see that HSB is, like, the best show ever drives me crazy ;))
Yeah, it’s an expensive set. It’s one of those shows that I watch – in its entirety – often enough to justify the purchase, plus I bought a handful of Season 2 episodes from Amazon (in HD) and keep them on my TiVo, because I watch them so often. Hmm, maybe I’m not the most objective person when it comes to this show…
(But I’m with you on Hill Street!)
I don’t see a rental option in WordMan’s link. $2/episode will rack up quickly, and if you want to watch all seven seasons it’ll cost more than the box DVD set.
If I can get 'em to sit and watch a couple of ep’s with me, I can figure out if I want to go after the boxed sets. We went through a period of buying too many, so I would prefer to only buy stuff we know could be repeat-viewing…
I usually choose the “putlocker” option because that is what the person who told me about it said she used. My computer has some issues with the display sometimes but I usually liten more than Iwatch so it doesn’t bother me.
Do you know anything about how these services access the shows that they stream? Are these sites legal? How come there is a time limit on access? I ask not only to understand the set-up, but the less legit a site like that is, the more likely I would be risking exposure to viruses or other malware, yes?
There’s an infinite amount of sites like that - as far as I know they’re all infringing copyright but as long as they obey take down orders by copyright owners they can’t be shut down.
I’m unfamiliar with that specific site, but one I use is called megavideo and they have time limits both to try and persuade you to pay for premium access and to ration bandwidth at peak times.
As for malware it really depends on the site- if you browse with adblock and noscript enabled you’ll be fine.
I don’t know where the OP is at but maybe try the local library. Virtually all libraries have DVD’s you can borrow for free and The West Wing is a fairly popular choice. I just checked my local library system and found there are twelve branches which have the series.
