Finding "We Are Indian"—India's pro-nuclear test music video?

Back in the late 90s, after India completed a surprise series of nuclear tests, the country’s Bharatiya Janata party commissioned a Hindi-language music video called “We Are Indian,” a pro India/Military/Nuclear Weapons work, which even starts off with five drumbeats, representing each of the nuclear weapons set off in the tests. I certainly remember seeing a clip of it on CNN, way back when. And I’d kinda like to hear it again.

Here’s my trouble—I can’t find a copy of that song or the music video online, anywhere. Though it’s certainly not helped by the fact I can’t actually read or write Hindi, which makes searching a bit troublesome.

So, would anyone happen to be able to point me towards a place where I could find it, by any chance?

You know who ELSE went looking for Indians and couldn’t find them?

George Custer? No, that’s not it.

Anyway, here’s the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGJl4vNJRdI

Wow that was terrible. But the song doesn’t seem to be the one described in the article. At least, there are discrepancies. The description in the video suggests it was released at the time of the Kargil war to ‘support our soldiers’, and the lyrics of the song match that description. They certainly doesn’t seem to have anything to do with nuclear blasts or national pride or anything you would expect if it were a ‘pro nuclear test’ video. Here’s a rough translation of the lyrics

<chorus - repeats often>
O soldiers, keep fighting, keep moving onwards
we are all with you, all of us.

<Soldiers parts around 1:15>
We are responsible for your smiles
We are not afraid for our lives
We will defend India, We are Indians

<back to citizens now>
languages are different, religions are many
but for this country we are one
my heart and my life is the country
We are Indians

<chorus>

<soldiers again>
Our enemy - if you provoke us, we will destroy you
Who dares move against us, as long as we defend our borders

Whoever attacks my mother, if it cost me my life, he will not survive
We dedicate our lives to our motherland
We are Indians
<repeats till the end>

So, yeah, I’m not seeing it. Oh and - no drumbeats.

On similar note, the best war song with very good rousing lyrics that I have come across is following from movie Gulaal (movie is not abt war though) -
aarambh hai prachand

That’s a whole different class of creative work. Shouldn’t be mentioned in the same thread as crap like the other song linked to in this thread :slight_smile:

ofcourse.
And I have zero clue about the song that the OP is talking abt.
