Has anyone ever been fired for reading SDMB at work? Has anyone ever been disciplined for reading SDMB at work? Does anyone deserve to be disciplined for how much time they spend on SDMB at work? I know that someone does. 
Ahem, or does any know a FOF that was fired or disciplined for it?
I just got reprimanded by my boss today about me reading the boards. But then he sidled up beside me and read a few threads. weirdos, all of them!
I got told to get offline.
The lurid name on the browser title bar, plus the big DOPE ad gave me away, and I had to say it wasn’t really about dope, but by then it was too late.

About a year ago, my then-supervisor “reminded” me that the web was only for work purposes and my history file showed I’d visited some sites that didn’t look work related, which threw a scare into me for a few days, but I’m over it
They actually removed internet access from all the computers except 2 in my office. But they had to give it back. My boss kept saying things like: “Hey, Pink (he doesn’t really call me Pink) e-mail me that report.” And I’d say: “Sorry, no net.”
Or “What’s the zip code on 3 Park?” and I’d say “Dunno.” and he’d say, “Look it up!” and I’d say, “No net.”
So, he finally gave up and gave me back the internet. Too late, I got another job. My last day here is tomorrow.
The temp agency I work for told me that I would be terminated if I even accessed the Internet while on the job. Yet here I am…
I’ll let you know what happens. If they’d give me some actual WORK to do, maybe I wouldn’t be on the net so much.
