Yahoo has added guillotine leagues to their setup, which I’ve been dying to try out the last several years ever since I heard about it. Here’s the general idea:
Teams are drafted like normal. But each week there are no head-to-head matchups - the week’s lowest scoring team gets booted, and its players are thrown onto the waiver wire for everyone else to pick up (it’s a Free Agency Acquisition Budget league). The league ends when there’s one last team remaining.
The league is capped at 18 teams, which I highly doubt we’ll hit. I’d love to see anyone who’s even remotely interested join - simply because the larger this type of league is, the more fun it is. And if you aren’t good at it, your weekly obligation will be over soon.
Here’s the sign-up link - I don’t think there was a password to get in:
I joined, but that draft date/time is problematic for me (I’ll be in London, so that’s like 2:30 am for me).
If the draft can be moved to the following week (23rd or later) it would be better for me. Otherwise I can pre-rank, I guess.
So I’m interested, but could you post the draft time? Presumably you get it after you sign up for the league, but I didn’t want to sign up just to see I couldn’t make it.
I’m in. FWIW I would prefer an auction draft since I don’t have anymore of those and they’re fun and better, but you might want to do a poll to see what other people think.
