Alright, Yahoo has renewed the league from last year, and it looks like there are already 13 teams signed up (I’m guessing it’s auto renewal as well).
I’m going to preemptively set a draft date for 9/2/26 at 8pm Eastern. Subject to change. We did an auction last year, which was awesome - we’re doing that again.
New settings: I’m open to pretty much everything if there’s general consensus. Also, there’s an option for giving players an injured status if their game is postponed. I like that - if a hurricane rips through town, you can slide a guy into the IL slot and get a quick replacement. I’m turning that on, but if you have an objection, I’ll turn it back off.
I believe we went with the following roster slots: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 W/R/T. No kickers (because kickers suck in fantasy) and no defense. 7 bench spots, 1 IR.
There is an option to skip particular weeks - week 11 has 6 teams on bye, which might make sense. I dunno. Maybe the week before it gets down to 3-4 teams? Maybe skip week 1 to make that first week of waiver picks extra insane?

I see no reason to skip a week. If there are 13 teams, by week 11 there will just be 2 teams left. There will be plenty of players to pick up if you happen to have a lot of players on a bye week.
I don’t think it’ll be necessary. There will be so many players available no one is going to struggle with bye weeks by that time. Plus the more weeks we have, the more players we can hold if we want to try to max this thing out. We have 14 signed up currently and another two interested (assuming they’re not in the league without me recognizing their names). 18 players would be a little bit bonkers. The last game would go into the last week of the regular season, but without as much of the concern that starters will be resting since by that time people will have almost the whole league to pick their starters from.
Did you send invitations to the last two posters? I didn’t want to overstep and do it myself since this is not my league.
I HATE the idea of playing in week 18. Sure with only 2 teams the teams are going to have lots of choices but I would rather the better roster win not the one with more players who are fighting for a playoff spot.
I recall that last season there was talk of making scoring best ball format so an injury didn’t autokill your team. Is that possible without doing it manually?
If we have 18 players the last week for us will be week 17. While there will almost certainly be a small number of teams that have clinched a playoff spot, they will all probably be fighting for playoff position. And we will be down to two players with a huge pool from which to choose.
My bad, I should have done the math and realized there will be one less week than the number of players. Week 17 should be fine. It is pretty rare for teams to rest players before the final week of the regular season.
Pardon hijacking this thread for a moment, but I’m hoping you guys don’t mind and at least one of you will be interested. We have a rare opening in the dynasty league that is one of the oldest in the world and has only had 6 people turn over in 18 years. Dynasty is a unique type of fantasy football where you get to keep as many players from your roster as you want every year and we draft incoming rookies. So we’re looking for a long term commitment, although someone to steward the roster for a year might work as a backup plan if that’s all we have interest in.

The manager who is unavailable created an amazing situation for a new manager to put his own mark on the team he’s inheriting, as he has the #2, #3, #9, and #14 picks in the draft.
