Reminds me of Frank Miller’s Dark knight returns and a little bit of the first two Arkham games. I like it. The films have been plagued by the latex armor look. Made Batman look clumpy and stiff when he should look lean and mean. Still have reservations about the film, but at least they got the look right.
They seem to be going with a Frank Miller/Greg Capullo style of batman costume. I like the shorter ears; and it even seems to be a grey and black costume, rather than the all-black they have shown in movies.
Is it me, or does Batman look kind of chubby. He definitely is bulked up, but he appears to be a little too thick around the middle, like he is wearing super-hero Spanx with an embossed six-pack for the abs.
Overall, I like it. I’m not sure about the weird texturing, but overall it’s one of the better movie Batman costumes. As was said upthread, very Milleresque.
I do prefer the more lean comic book Batman, where he had more pf a gymnast build over the later bulked up versions.
Holy Mexican wrestlers, KneadToKnow! You were not kidding. Looking at those images and others by Frank Miller, I see that he envisioned more of a roid-rage Batman, than the suave millionaire dilettante.
I just think it’s silly that they chose that pose of all thigns. It’s just so awkward looking, and I think would only lend credence to the idea that Affleck can’t play the character.
I also know that Kevin Smith thinks it’s a fanboy’s dream costume, in that it actually looks like the comic Batman. He’s been saying that since he first saw it.
The Micheal Keaton Batman look, you mean? Yeah, you’re not the only one to have that thought. It’s very disappointing, really. One of the things I really liked about the most recent movies was that we were finally presented with a Bruce Wayne who looked physically capable of doing the things Batman does. Chubbiness and/or lack of muscle aside, the problem with people like Michael Keaton and George Clooney is that, well, being Batman is a young man’s game. A middle-aged body just isn’t going to hold up to that kind of punishment for very long.
