First snow of the year

So one vote for no…

We got snow here in NW Montana, but only and inch or two, however the temps dropped dramatically overnight. We were hitting 70F last week and we’ll be lucky to get out of the 20’s during the day. It will drop down into single digits at night. This is kinda early for a cold snap, but not unheard of. No records will be broken. I like the changing seasons, but does it have to be so abrupt?

I can’t be sure if that was or wasn’t an intentional MAS*H reference, but … I raise a glass to you either way (<1min):

Damn good Joe.

Winter is here and last Sunday, I too was in shorts. Spent this morning being flurried on and clearing the yard and deck. Also, sadly, the last of the raspberries sat ripe and frozen on the vine, so I plucked them off and plan to eat’em with lunch.

Well… here we go From National Weather service for zip 80424.

  • Winter Storm Warning
  • WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and
24 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

When it’s not a watch, we are certain to get hit in my experience.

Nothing even close to on the ground where I am, but the Olympic mountains got a lovely coating of snow.

Got our snow yesterday as predicted, and it was a lovely three degrees fahrenheit when I got up this morning…
