Northern Dopers, have you had your first snow yet?

As a companion to the thread asking about turning on the heat: have you had your first snowfall yet?

We had ours on Saturday, October 3. It’s all gone now, but it was snowing.

No snow yet, in fact we have only had 2 mornings that were frosty. Middle of BC.

Some pf my co-workers said they saw some snow swirling around in the air on Friday, but I didn’t see it nor did I hear any weather reports confirming it. Certainly nothing stuck.

There was a light snowfall in Chicago Saturday A.M. (I didn’t see it, personally). It’s our 3rd earliest snow. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-20141004-story.html

Lalalalala I’m not listening! It’s still nice out! No snow here!

We had snow today but it didn’t stick. We also had snow in mid-September that melted by evening and then a day last week where it again snowed and melted by nightfall. The mid-September snow was followed by three days of high 20’s © and needing the a/c back on and then it dropped down to the single digits and on went the heat. Checking the forecast just now it’s calling for wet flurries for the next four days but we’ll see.

There was a very light frost the other morning.

Some snow in the mountains, didn’t last very long. Nothing down here in the flatlands.

Not yet, and none in the forecast through the end of October. No frost either.

On my drive home from work between 11pm and midnight Oct 3 snow was coming down hard to the point where the light from my headlights reflecting back on me was blinding. There was no accumulation and it wasn’t for very long and may have been in fairly localized areas only which is why nobody else other than me seems to have experienced it.

I live in central Wisconsin.

Sleet in Cleveland/Akron on Saturday.

Yup. It didn’t last, but I woke up to a more white than not world last week.

Depends on what counts as snow. We’ve had frozen water fall as snowflakes, but it did not accumulate. It melted when it hit the ground, but it didn’t melt on the windshield of my parked car.

This thread’s a month too late for Calgarians!

After the big summer storm, we’ve had flakes flirling (that’s a word, right?) a few times interspersed with glorious weekends in the mid to high 20s.

Wet snow Saturday morning in parts of Wisconsin.

Brian

Yup. And my friend in Elyria reported snow.

I wasn’t sure how a Calgarian would answer this question without a massive amount of swearing.

Not in Montreal. We had ground frost one morning a couple weeks ago (ruined the basil, but the beans, being higher up are still producing). Generally, the first snow comes between Nov. 10 and 20, but melts. The snows of December will usually not melt till April. I once saw light snow on May 1.

No snow. Plenty of rain. Finally getting cold enough, consistently enough, that I can imagine that changing soon.

NOOOOOO!!!

Not yet. Still early for this area.
