Fitch v. Republican Party: Someone's suing the GOP for being a bad political party

Here’s a link to the court filing on Scribd, and a direct link to the PDF via The Volokh Conspiracy. It’s Fitch v. Republican Party (Cal. Super. Ct. filed Aug. 19, 2013) and Fitch is alleging:

Also, from the filing:

One of this loon’s proposed remedies is a doozy:

Eh, as a couple posters in the Voloch thread point out, the guys almost certainly severely mentally ill. “Lets point and laugh at the Schizophrenic” seems like kind of grim entertainment, IMHO.

IANAL, but I think “standing to sue” is a relevant legal notion. That the guy is a mentally ill voter should give him good standing to sue the GOP. :stuck_out_tongue:

Whenever I hear this, I remember that nobody has a problem with laughing at the stupid as long as they don’t visibly have Down’s Syndrome or fetal alcohol or something. We also don’t have problems laughing at the narcissists or sociopaths (antisocial behavior disorder), even though those are just as diagnosable as schizophrenia. So where’s the line? Can we laugh at some things people can’t help but not others?

You can laugh at what you want. I just don’t really see the funny. “ha ha, the guys brain is broken and he can’t tell reality from his own paranoid delusions” just seems tragic to me.

While I can’t agree with the guy’s proposed remedies, I seems perfectly reasonable to me to sue the GOP for being evil or inept or both in failing to act for the benefit of the American public.

This probably means I would be a very bad lawyer.

Geeze, if the GOP is losing the crazy vote, they really are doomed, aren’t they?

What does “lots of ability to home and nest for their lineages” even mean? It sounds like it was written by an activist pidgeon. I’m pretty sure no other party is supplying it, whatever it is.

So are the Republicans. Perfect fit, really.

I read portions of the complaint and the fellow does seem to have severe mental problems. But the thread title says he is a Republican, so I am being redundant.
