ok
funny how they picked outta the blue a 5 year year old with documents about immigration
also how that little girl got to run up to the pope with a document when NOBODY ELSE in the crowd got to do that
and funny how her and fer parents are illegals its fucking amazing how the pope picked them outta the crowd
i guess it was truly a sign from god
but you leftys dont believe in god unless it suits you
Given the number of little Sophies in the crowd with the same message for the Pope, it’s a testament to security measures and secret service that only one has managed to catch the Pope’s eye and deliver her message so effectively.
Even god is hard pressed to beat the odds that someone eventually would.
I am quite sure not a word of that was written by the 5 year old girl.
I concur. The drawing at the bottom of the page looks like something an adult drew in the style of a child as well.
I’ve been in a couple of Papal big meetings, and both times part of the security was a cordon formed by volunteers taken from the sides (no trouble finding those, since being in the cordon actually gave you the closest possible view). It’s not hard to picture a little kid getting through that.
Are you joking? The pope is a head of state. An agenda wasn’t interjected into his visit, an agenda is the purpose of his visit. If Ronald McDonald came to visit would you be surprised if a discussion about hamburgers broke out?
One would expect a less hackneyed and transparent attempt to manipulate the public emotionally from an organization like The Vatican. I’m actually on their side on this issue and I resent this clumsy attempt to play me.
Well, he’s lost my vote.
Come on. He’s already had a high-ranking pedo whacked. Give him some credit.
What translation are you reading? Mein Bibel?
I’m pretty sure emotional manipulation is the Vatican’s stock-in-trade.
Either your hardware is out of order or your software is buggy. Time to return to your home planet for a reboot…
Exactly. Thus, my disgust at this amateur night performance.
I reckon the drawing is more of her own creation than the wording of the letter.
At the same time, I don’t think the presumed fact of someone else writing or dictating much of the language of the letter, for her to transcribe, means that it is not her feelings that are represented. Why should anyone not believe that the matters referenced are not things that she has heard of, thought of, taken her own interest in? And why would it be wrong for a parent or another adult to help her put her message down? Kids are routinely encouraged and facilitated to write to President or Congressman, God, Santa Claus. As QuickSilver says, she was undoubtedly not the only kid (or adult) there with such a letter in hand.
Considering that a recent Pope was almost assassinated, it had to be a setup. Otherwise they would be scraping the kids body up off the pavement.
