Five Year old Girl "Breaks thru barricade"to Give Pope message on Immigraation

Right, because shooting a five-year-old girl in the head on live TV is great optics and the absolute first option a security detail would take.

Welcome to the new world of terrorism where the use of irregular terrorists is becoming more common.

Irrelevant unless you can demonstrate that shooting barricade jumpers on sight, regardless of age, gender, or threat potential, is SOP for Papal security details.

This entire thread is nothing more than a silly conspiracy theory. If the Pope wants to talk about immigration he hardly needs to stage a photo op to make it happen, and it’s not as if this Pope hasn’t been seen constantly crossing barricades and interacting with regular people.

I was hyperbolic about the scrapping her off the pavement. I should have said that she would have been intercepted by the many security (US and VC) that are protecting the Pope. No way they are letting any barricade jumper close to the Pope.

She was intercepted.

I’m sure the Vatican didn’t set this up, but jumped on an opportunity that they knew would present itself. It’s like improv comics with a prepared routine about driving. They don’t have shills in the audience, but they know if they ask for an occupation somebody is going to say truck driver, or driving instructor or mailman or something that they can swing around to driving. It’s not a set up so much as knowing how people will act.

Given this, do you really think security is going to let an unknown get close to the Pope?

… so the Pope’s techniques are basically cold reading?

I sense a return to this automobile. Because nothing says “I have faith in the Lord” quite like, riding around in a bullet proof car.
Honestly though, the current Pope will probably go without a bulletproof car, I suspect.

But she got to the Pope, right?

After he called her forward, yes.

This isn’t the first time security has let an unknown get close to the Pope.

This Pope likes to interact with the public. It’s his thing. I doubt he would allow the kind of strongarm tactics from his security detail that you seem to think are absolutely necessary.

I saw a blog that proved that the picture was out of a magazine and just inserted into a card so people would call the girl an artistic genius after she was hassled by security and then she could meet the Pope. Obama will tweet his support later.

I will have to say that what is hyperbolic is the conspiracy thinking here, as others pointed it is a good bet that many others had made similar messages, also the news cited makes clear that the police had already caught her, it was just after that that the Pope noticed her in custody and then he requested the authorities to let her come forward.

If you accept to be hyperbolic I have to say that I have noticed many right wing sites that push this conspiracy also did talk in the past about the Sandy Hook school massacre with a conspiracy lens, you need to avoid such poison.

I am having a harder time accepting that our FBI/SS or whatever organization we have working security would allow this but OK. If its his thing its his thing. But then JFK loved riding in a convertible so that he would be closer to the public…:dubious:

He’s the vicar of Christ. When he dies, he will go straight to heaven. Assuming he believes in his creeds (and I see no reason to think otherwise), I doubt death worries him.

The Pope doesn’t work for the FBI.

Boy this is a crazy paranoid post. I have no idea where (the second paragraph) is coming from. And media manipulation is quite common in todays world. Given the kind of Pope he is I am far less likely to believe in a conspiracy than (any of our) politicians.

The US security detail doesnt work for the Pope. They are going to err on the side of caution. If this pope were to be assassinated it would be besides tragic a huge stain on our nation.
