I agree
…so the wider problem you have with the problem with Apu is something that you are imagining is happening in my brain?
That hardly seems to be a problem you should be worrying about. In my humble opinion of course.
It certainly doesn’t seem to be problem that can be resolved in a discussion in cafe society. I’m not going to share the inner working of my brain here I’m afraid, and if that means you will forever be worried I might be suspecting you of something then that is just something you are going to have to live with.
You’ve casually dismissed the problem with Apu. So I guess we are even?
yup, and other brains like it, I think that it is a wider problem and it gets in the way of honest discussion.
Call me old-fashioned but I find honesty and clarity in discussions like this tends to help people to an understanding. Knowing what you are thinking would actually be helpful but…it is your choice of course.
Again, I don’t think that is how productive discussions work.
Nobody has the power to control if other people are offended by something. All one can do is decide whether or not to care.
I’ve personally settled on the “not” side of this particular issue and like Apu just the way he is.
…so to clarify: your primary problem with Hari’s critique of Apu is that you don’t know what is going on in my brain, and you feel that it gets in the way of honest discussion? It doesn’t have anything to do with what Hari actually said?
What does that have to do with the problem with Apu?
I’m being perfectly honest with you, and if you need more clarity you simply have to ask.
I think we are well past “productive.”
But if you are casually dismissing the problem with Apu and I am casually dismissing your concerns about what is happening in my brain, then we are even, are we not?
Bumped.
It won’t be good enough until he does it to each of them, individually. In their first language. The kneebiter.
