Disappointed a little the Reset Button was hit so hard but not fully surprised. At least we the audience now know Wells’ full story even if the other characters don’t.
If Barry didn’t tell him, it’s a plot hole they need to fill. They specifically showed the reporter approaching Iris with his story but she was too busy to listen. That saved Cisco, but now they need to explain it. His computer could have informed him, but we need to see that.
One thing that wasn’t reset was Barry breaking up with Linda. Does that mean we’re no longer going to see Ms. Park? Because that would be hugely disappointing.
Didn’t she say, “your heart should ache for me?”
Yeah, time to dump someone who says that, when you’ve barely gotten to know them. I could see her becoming a villain.
Hot damn! There might be hope for that musical episode yet:
…that was pretty damn awesome!
And it looks like its all connected to this:

Five days to go, looks like a project well worth backing!
And I love the cast of the Flash just a little bit more now!
Possible, but I don’t think it’s likely. At the end of the episode, Barry said something like, “I keep forgetting, I’ve been meaning to ask you about Simon…” and stops when he sees the article about the reporter’s death. If he had already told Wells about the reporter’s suspicions, then what was it that he forgot to ask?
No, I think Wells has Barry bugged, and overheard him talking to the reporter about Stagg.
If Wells is bugging/spying on his friends, wouldn’t he know about Joe’s suspicions?
Anyway, I think the gig is about up. I don’t see how Wells can keep his secrets much longer.
Well, The Flash’s season finale isn’t scheduled until May 19th, so we have a number of episodes to go.
And this week, Mark Hamill returns as The Trickster, a role he played on the earlier 1990 series.
NICE! And we already know Barry Allen can sing (at least Karaoke)…
That was effing AWESOME! Who knew Eddie sang bass?
Yeah, that’s a weird thing to say to someone you haven’t been dating very long. I wish they had given her character more to do, but I’m not sad to see her go.
I think he does know about Joe’s suspicions, doesn’t he? Joe has basically accused him of being shady in some past episode, though I don’t remember if Joe had any specific misdeeds he suspects Harrison of.
And remember, Joe’s partner Eddie Thawne is Harrison/Eobard’s ancestor. Eobard may know something about the future – such as that Joe is destined to save Eddie’s life at some point, so therefore he can threaten Joe but not allow him to come to harm.
Which brings up another point: Is Iris also his ancestor? Only the man in yellow knows for sure.
That was pretty good. Lots of reveals, but still some unanswered questions.
Can’t believe Mark Hamill said that.
Do you think they’d play the tragic irony card and have Barry accidentally kill his mom during the chase?
Also, anyone else waiting for the real Wells to show up in Zoom’s old body?
The moment it was revealed that new Trickster was in cahoots with old Trickster, I just knew he had to say it.
Showing the Trickster’s photo from the old series was a nice touch. They did the same thing when Amanda Pays was on.
Excellent Episode. Really hoping at some point Barry goes back in time and rescues the real Dr. Wells.
I was hoping he’d be redeemed somehow, but it doesn’t look good. Well technically Wells was a good guy.
It’s still a little confusing. Eobard seems to genuinely care about Cisco. He’s helping Barry but that could be so he can tap his Speed Force and return to his own time. But what was he doing going back in time to kill young Barry in the first place?
And how did Barry’s mom die exactly? I didn’t see her actually die, but I gather from the original police investigation it was a fairly brutal death.
My impression was Eobard went back in time to kill young Barry (or maybe his mom?), with older Barry right behind him. The two fought in the Allen house- Eobard kept trying to kill Barry’s mom, and Barry kept fighting him off- they were at a stalemate. Young Barry came in so Eobard turned to attack him. Older Barry had to choose between saving his younger self or his mother, and ended up grabbing his younger self and moving him away from the fight, at which point Eobard killed the mom and then ran away.
One nice callback to the original Flash series- when Barry ran through the truck, the first thing he said was “That was weird”, which as I recall is exactly what John Wesley Shipp said the first time *he *phased in the 90’s series.
I fugue they will want to resolve the Reverse Flash story-line at some point but Tom Cavanagh isn’t going to leave the show (nor would I want him to) so I think that at some point Barry will somehow pull the real Wells from the past and we will either have two or eventually RF will be defeated and all there will be is good Wells.
BTW the scene where Wells was killed was very unnerving and that is a good thing.
