Flawless Albums....

Yes! Absolutely! Television is such an amazing band and it’s a damn shame more people don’t know them. They’re work is still relevant.

Maybe I’ll get lambasted for this, but while I adore Michael Penn, I’ve only heard (and owned) “Resigned” and “mp4” which are both brilliant albums.

Also, to anyone who mentioned the Pixies. Brilliant. It’s a rough time picking between “Trompe Le Monde” and “Surfer Rosa” for my favourite, however.

sigh It’s also a damn shame I can’t type “their” instead of “they’re.” :stuck_out_tongue:

May I humbly suggest that there is a difference between “flawless” and “great”? Every album mentioned here may be great; I don’t know enough about them to say. But I sincerely doubt they are all flawless _ perfect in every way, no weak lyrics, no self-indulgent solos you wish they’d left out, no overly flashy bits of production that you could do without.

I’m a big Beatles fan, but I wouldn’t consider any of their albums flawless.

Radiohead, The Bends
Radiohead, OK, Computer
Pink Floyd, The Division Bell
Stone Roses, Second Coming
Orb, Adventures in the Ultraworld

There are many more that I really like, and probably more that I think of as flawless, but those five sprang to mind.

Television is awesome I agree… I actually forgot to put one album on my list. PENTHOUSE by Luna which tom verlaine actually cameos on. Any fans of television would love Luna.

As for Pixies you may notice that I listed every album up until Bossa Nova. While that album and trompe le monde rock
The first three albums as FAR superior and flawless. Surfer Rosa gets my vote in the pixies collection.
