The Lady Be Good was indeed the inspiration for King Nine Will Not Return according to The Twilight Zone Companion.

Sole Survivor (1970, made for TV) was also based on the crash of the Lady Be Good. It had a line in it that I still remember. Brigadier General Russell Hamner (Richard Basehart) lines up the crew of the Home Run in preparation for their rescue. He says, “You look like Death warmed over.” A crewman says, “I’ve got news for you.” (If you’ve seen it, you’ll know.)
Back to Flight 19, it’s been covered pretty well here. Navigational error, disappeared over the Atlantic. But I love the scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind with the sandstorm. The way the TBMs “materialize” onto the screen was very nicely done.
