Florida, Alabama and lab-grown meat

Oh FFS!

“Florida is fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals,” the DeSantis added.

Naively, I thought that lab-grown meat would be a good thing. Evidently not - it’s part of an elite global conspiracy.

It’s certainly not good for the current livestock meat producers cartel, which has apparently bought the political leadership of those stares wholesale.

See also margarine and dairy farmers.

Remember the Republicans are there save you from the horrors of government regulation! We’d all be queuing for bread like Soviet russia if they didn’t keep the commies at bay and allow the free market to thrive unhindered.

I read that it could cause cancer.

Where? Please cite crap like this in the future. You might as well say your butcher told you that.

I can’t wait for lab-grown meat. I hate this bullshit political theater. My foolish opinion is that if someone doesn’t want to eat this, then don’t, and mind your own fucking business.

Sarcasm should be marked as such, otherwise people might think you actually believe it.

Fully agree. Though I believe, for a variety of reasons, that reducing meat consumption is a good thing, my favourite pizza is some variation of meat-lover’s and I love a good, big honking rare steak. So I truly look forward to lab-grown meat of good quality.

It was mentioned on X. I apologize for not citing.

Me too on both counts, but I have a feeling we’re a LONNNG way off from a lab-grown porterhouse that’s just like the dead-animal version.

Maybe you can avoid repeating crap from X unless it has some scientific study?

So, still no source?

I will go and look, it was a bit ago.
Try and ask a question that you don’t know the answer to and get attacked. I won’t ask any more.
No one could just say, No, not so?

John Fetterman is also going along with this anti-science nonsense:

And posting nonsense like this:

Gee, Fetterman, have you ever looked at the equipment that beer or milk products are processed in? Not to mention chicken nuggets or whatever. Stainless steel vats, tubes, pumps, etc.

It’s up to you to verify that what you say is correct before you post it. Otherwise, you’re just spreading gossip and misinformation.

What question did you ask? All I saw was you repeating a claim that “it causes cancer”.

And the thing that actually makes the meat is a lot grosser.

You didn’t ask a question, you made a statement that is very easy to Google as false.

You spread lies/misinformation.

This is how the anti-vaxx crap spread. False reports repeated.

Honestly, you should probably be apologizing, not acting hurt.

Not hurt. Already apologized.
Back to your regularly scheduled thread.

If a company wants to thrive unhindered by government regulation it should know enough to donate a few million to the RNC.
