Floridope, anyone?

I could do the 5th.

It’s definitely a walk: I was thinking of caveating to that effect in my post except that it’s also quite a walk just from one end of Disney Springs to another. And they recently put pedestrian bridges that enable you to cross the big street faster. But it’s true that it definitely is not something I’d recommend when it’s hot out.

I’m also not sure if Benihana is within a reasonable price range for all of our prospective attendees. I have a vague recollection that the prices at House of Blues are reasonable, but they don’t put them online which is a bad sign.

HoB seemed reasonable the only time I ate there but that was 10 or so years ago and it is strange to not see prices online. If it was similar to the 10 years ago price plus inflation, then House Of Blues would be a good choice too since it seems more laid back and less crowded than the other Disney Springs places (relatively speaking, that is.)

I don’t know the area but one factor to bear in mind is that if we’re a group bigger than about 4 people and want to yak then a place with live entertainment is right out.

Let’s do this thing! (I mean, uh, are we doing this thing? If so, can someone direct me to a moderately priced no tell motel?)

Ooh I want to come!

I’ve never been to a Dopefest and Orlando is perfect since I, you know, live here now

If Disney Springs is still a possibility, what about the Indiana Jones bar? Good drinks so we could all drink and talk, with a little bit of food thrown in there as well. Yet it’s not one of the crazy-expensive restaurants

The HOB restaurant is separate from the concert area.

Just saw this… I’ll be checking out and flying back on the 5th. No big deal… have a good time.

But if anyone has any good recommendations of places to eat or hang out let me know. The guys I’ll be with are somewhere between 19 and 22 depending on which ID they show you.

So, is we is or is we ain’t?

I’m not sure we have a sufficient critical mass - ISTM that we only have like five people committed to coming. Perhaps if we push it out another month a few more people will see the thread and join in?

I have long been a fan of Howl at the Moon on International Drive. It’s a dueling piano bar. Not for everyone, though.

I’d be up for that. Since I didn’t know if it was a go or not I made other plans and I would hate to miss a chance to meet some Floridopers.

I’d be cool with pushing it out too since I forgot that there was a rare non-no-limit-hold 'em tournament on the 5th. But dopefests are also rare so hopefully now I can do both.

Howl at the Moon is fun, but it gets VERY crowded. How about Tu Tu Tango? It’s a fun tapas bar with lots of artwork and on the weekend they have belly dancers.

I’ve heard good things!

Ms. Cups and I are planning on being at Epcot for a good majority of the day on Satuday, so if this is happening as early as then it would be perfect for me.

Otherwise pushing it to next weekend so actual plans can happen would be cool too

I was just suggesting Howl for Spud’s visit. Too loud for us to talk, I think. I do think we should go ahead and put it off for a month since there’s only a couple of us in right now. Any suggestions for a new date?

April 16 will work for me.

That’s the weekend of the Star Wars races so not only will Orlando be busier than normal, but I’m also racing and wouldn’t be able to play…any chance we can kick it a week to the next weekend?

Which is the 23rd

I’m unavailable for Mar 5th also. Sounds like that date might work for a couple Orlando locals and that’s about it.
