Hey, Dung Beetle, if it’s pecan, save me a big slice, please! Or crumble-crust apple. Or wild blueberry. Or rhubarb, as long as there’s no damned strawberries polluting the pure sour-sweet ZING of that pie.

I would like to say this thread has been VERY informative - thank you to all (well, most!). I finally learned the origin of the “death ray” inside joke; what “YMMV” means; and, saw the “pie” video. Thanks again!
I suspect that anyone posting non-sequiturs in an attempt to discredit a thread is really trying to get the glory days of this thread back.
Maybe it’s just me, but I read the pit because it often contains beautifully-crafted rants that amuse me and make me in awe of the author. Many of these rants are just priceless. Some make me feel ire at the target of the rant. Others have tears streaming down my cheeks, I’m laughing so hard. They make me feel something!

Since this thread has received so many replies from people who dislike the non-sequiturs, I felt compelled to jump in and say I love them. Some of my favorite posters and pun-masters and I love those, too.
I get a kick out of them every time I see them. Whenever I see one, I feel vastly superior to those pitiful earthlings who have yet to find and embrace our incredible community.
I like Opal and I like pie, and I’ll shoot anyone who doesn’t with my 1920’s style deathray (and burn their dog). If I don’t, may the Mods eat my cheese.
