Following up after job skills test?

I have a question about my job search. I got a reply from one employer who said that she liked my resume and wanted me to take a skills test (standard procedure in my business). I said great, completed the test, and e-mailed it back to her. She confirmed receipt and said that she would get back to me once she’d reviewed all the tests. It’s been about two weeks, and I’m wondering if it would be appropriate to e-mail her again. I know it’s generally encouraged to follow-up after interviews, at least with a thank-you note, but the difference here is that I haven’t actually had an interview yet, and I’m not sure what I would say if I did e-mail her. “So, do you want to interview me or not?” is probably a bit too pushy :). Any opinions?

It’s fine to ask where she is in the process and when you can expect to hear from her. You can send this once a week if she doesn’t reply, that’s reasonable, and she just might be swamped.

If she tells you how much time she needs, that gives you information about your next follow-up with her.

Okay, that’s very helpful. Thanks!

Every job I ever got was because I hounded them. Sometimes after hiring me they commented that the reason the hired me was because I demonstrated that I really wanted the position.
