Foo'ball Fans: A serious dilemma

Alright, this is week 2 in my fantasy football league. My quarterbacks are: Donovan McNabb, Mark Brunell, and Shane Matthews. Who do I start?

I started McNabb last week. He did pretty good for me, but Brunell would’ve done better. Brunell’s going up against a defense that gave up a lot last Sunday. Dilemma ensues.

The dark horse is Shane Matthews. I know Spurrier’s offense may have gotten lucky, but I grabbed him anyway since my third QB was Chris Chandler, who didn’t play at all. And Matthews was the 2nd or 3rd ranked QB in our league (statistically). I don’t think he’s for real, and I honestly can’t start “Shane Matthews”, THE “Shane Matthews” without cringing.

So who should it be, McNabb or Brunell?

Matthews.

But seriously, I would say Matthews, but since the 'Skins are playing the Eagles, and since McNabb is playing the 'Skins, I would just say Brunell by default.

As a disclaimer, I should let you know that school work has kept me from being the football expert I used to be. For example, it’s probably been a couple years since I could really follow football seriously, so I would also recommend that you start Jacksonville’s rookie running back Fred Taylor. He looks really promising, as long as he can stay healthy. I’m joking of course, but it’s been a while.

Start Ronaldo.

He’s money!

:stuck_out_tongue:

McNabb. In my experience, when you doubt your #1 QB, you’re bound to screw up. You may gain a few points this week by starting someone else (like you would have last week), but there’s going to be a week that McNabb explodes, and he’ll be on the bench. Never doubt your studs.

I’d start McNabb. Although Washington is still an unknown, so far they’ve been able to rack up some points. If that trend continues, then the Eagles will have to respond with passing in order to win, which I think they will.

[hijacks his own thread]

Fantasy football has, for me, been the total opposite of regular football. I actually want my starting QBs team to get behind by, say, 43 points. Why? Cause then they’ll go pass wacky and get me big points.

And plus, the sooner the other team scores, the sooner your players get a chance to get their hands on the ball.

Yea! So long as people don’t throw INTs and screw up my stats, we’re groovy.

Definitely start McNabb. At this point, he’s the best bet. Don’t second-guess yourself after the games are over – that only gets you riled up! McNabb is good enough to start, regardless of matchups.

Right. My team’s actually pretty good. Starting RBs this week will be Ricky Williams, Deuce McAllister, and Travis Henry, for example.
