I made a loaf of keto “bread” - while it almost has the texture of something like banana bread, it’s very eggy - not surprising since the single loaf was made with 6 eggs… I don’t think I’ll make it again.
Just back from picking up FCD’s computer - he’s happy. We also made a couple other stops, so it was a productive errand run. Now… ummmm… dunno
Try this. Two slices have 18 grams carbohydrates and 5 grams of fibre.
At this stage, we’re supposed to keep net carbs under 20 per day - two slices of that bread would be 13 net, seriously limiting our veggie options. I’ll keep it in mind for the future, tho.
Howdy all. Paid water bill and ate at Firehouse subs (maybe me, but the honey and/or bread was a bit too sweet for my tastes–back to Jersey Mike’s next week). Mailed pictures off to brother (guess I ought to tell him that) and unpacked my new wagon (child edition) for carrying soccer balls and stuff to and from the field. Leave for practice in about 2 hours.
flyboy, sounds like your campany is acting responsibly, recognizing there is an issue and this is how we’ll deal with it. See what happens if somebody there (not you!!) catches the virus.
Becks, safe move.
Sari, bosses always think they can improve on something…it’s a boss thing. But see if they can admit they screwed the pooch–that’s a lot harder for them to admit.
I’m fairly well convinced that the way these diets work is by making it so complicated to eat that you just don’t bother as much…
Busy day at irk, more of same expected on Thursday. I’ll say one thing for this job, it does have variety; last week I was twiddling my thumbs trying to look busy, this week I’m coming in early and going home late to try fit it all in.
I worked as a civilian in Navy commands for 26 years. Every 2 years or so, we’d get a new CO (Commanding Officer) who would reorganize. I’m convinced that was only done so they’d have something to put on their fitness reports. At one command where I spent 10 years, it seemed every 2nd or 3rd reorg was a throwback to something we’d already tried. Plus these reorgs often included physical moves to new offices. In 10 years, I had 13 different desks.
We’re at the beginning of an epidemic. Let’s get everyone into an enclosed space!
Good afternoon, all! Yes, it’s National Misery Day, when people who were cheering the “extra” hour of light last night realize it was ripped from their mornings. And people with little children who couldn’t go to sleep when it was still light out got the fun job of rousing their sleepy little bodies in the dark. END THIS NEEDLESS TORTURE NOW! So sayeth Nellie, Empress of Crazy.
Beck, sorry to report I haven’t eaten anything yet. I hope they have wi-fi at the rehab place. I’m sure they do. And I hope the trip over was smooth and not too uncomfortable. Too bad Dropzone couldn’t get transferred down there. I’m sure you two’d keep the place hopping.
Sari, I feels ya. My school district once got a new software program for grades and attendance. Every teacher knew it was a bad idea. The developer was a twenty-something who still lived in her parents’ basement. She had a staff of two. It was pricey, our salaries had been frozen for 10 years, and potential issues galore. Of course, chaos ensued. Why did the district adopt it? Because the district CFO slept with her. Moral of the story: run new programs past staff before adopting them. Why don’t all businesses do that?

Multiple MMPs merged, so expect the usual confusion.
We *THRIVE *on confusion!!! Thanks for the merge!
Well. I’m here at the new place. They only have double occupancy rooms. Their population of inmates is low so I won’t have a room-mate, though.
I missed lunch service. Big Wrek went and got me some food. I’ve had us nap and a visit from 'Hilda Svengarde the PT lady.
I took a short walk to a dayroom. No one was in there.
I’m feeling good about this place.
Anxious about dinner time.
Peace out…
Just got back from lugging DH to a medical appointment, then to the DMV for a new temporary parking placard (he still needs it, really). Now home and needing to interface with insurance people. Happy happy joy joy.
No exciting food today, at least not yet. Just mundanities like toast.
sari, I get what the vinegar, oil and eggs are for, but what does the red cabbage have to do with it?
metal mouse, is your wagon one of those canvas sided accordion ones? https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/academy-sports-outdoors-folding-sports-wagon-with-removable-bed?campid=71700000050598219&adgroupid=58700004941711381&device=c&keyword=92700048695021889&Channel=pla&&gclsrc=3p.ds&msclkid=aba46558dd4f1c2b19c63b3e0c3dd64f&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Non-Brand%20|%20Shopping%20|%20High%20Intent%20|%20Sports%20%26%20Rec&utm_term=4583863985828066&utm_content=Sports%20%26%20Rec%20|%20Backyard&gclid=aba46558dd4f1c2b19c63b3e0c3dd64f&gclsrc=aw.ds#repChildCatid=6960003 I’m considering one of those or a rolling scrapbook tote to replace the kid bag. With the added weight of books (I’m now responsible for their story too), the bag is becoming too heavy to schlep in and out of the building while carrying a potluck dish.
becks, I pulled some spinach-ricotta stuffed peppers out of the freezer for tonight and had a small dish of cucumber-radish salad to go with. Cooking for one, I make single serving freezer boxes so’s I don’t have to eat the same thing for three or four days running.
Irked, came home, walked the dog and nuked supper. Such excitement.
Red, yep, different make and model, but basically the same. Fold it up, put in back of car, get to field, unfold it, load with soccer balls/cones/pinneys and such and move them out to the field, then reverse the process when practice is over. Beats the heck out of carrying all that stuff.
Becks, between soccer practice and the bronchitis, don’t really feel like eating tonight, probably make a sammich or two or maybe nuke a pair of White Castles. Presume you will eat better than that.
flyboy, good (or bad) point. See how it goes tomorrow.
Soccer went well, cloudy but the temperatures were in the low 60F range so pretty comfortable. Very tired now, but still have to change the mattress pad and fitted sheet on my bed before I sleep tonight.
Signing class was pretty good today. We started outside for the first hour. We all signed our names for the class, then he started teaching us numbers up to 30. Numbers are tricky, but I figure with practice, it’ll sink in.
Once it started getting chilly, we went back to the classroom and played a game where Thor (the instructor) signed various words and we tried to figure them out. I was the first one to get Baltimore and Cleopatra! Go me!! It’s a lot tougher than I’d expected.
So endeth my day. I’m about to wander back to bed. I’s tahred…
Beck, if people here tempt you with tales of food you shouldn’t eat, just go to Lileks’ Gallery of Regrettable Food. It’s sure to kill the heartiest appetite.
metal mouse, looking at these wagons, they’re less expensive and more versatile than what the scrapbook tote would be. I have project boxes for the kid craft, so no real need for all of the little nooks, pockets and loops. I may have to give one a test drive.
Howdy y’all. I’m trying to post from an old android tablet I ‘lost’ 5 or 6 years ago and just found again a couple of weeks ago. I just now managed to load an updated version of Firefox on this thing and it’s stopped imitating a zombie. If I can get my e-mail to work consistatly on here, and figger out how to make the font bigger I may be able to use this thing for something besides a paperweight.
Corned beef and cabbage (and other veg) for dinner tonight, 'cause we’re rebels we are.
Later.
I’m finally almost over the Dos Equis virus that I had & it was into the 70°s today. I tried to go for a (trail) run. Got about 300 yards into it & rolled my ankle…bad. Stopped running immediately & sat down. I almost cried, not from the pain but from the frustration of it. Walked back to the car & drove home, badly, using my other foot. In the few mins I was off of it it started to swell. Hobbled in & laid on the sofa, with it on ice, until 8pm. (The Bachelor came on & I didn’t have the remote ) I haven’t done so few steps in over 14 months.
You are injured **Spidey **, truly awful having to watch that show.
Feel better quickly!
